This compact and discreet device is designed for portable security and surveillance, offering 1080P video recording with infrared night vision and motion detection capabilities. Its unique car key shape allows for versatile placement in various indoor and outdoor environments. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of your device.

2.2 Device Components

Familiarize yourself with the key components of your car key camera:

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the car key camera. Connect the provided charging cable to the USB port on the device and plug the other end into a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The status indicator light will show charging status (refer to Section 4.1 for LED indications).

3.2 Inserting the Micro SD Card

The device requires a Micro SD card (TF card) for storing recordings. Ensure the card is formatted to FAT32 for optimal compatibility. Insert the Micro SD card into the TF card slot with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place. To remove, gently push the card in until it springs out.

Note: A Micro SD card is not included with the product and must be purchased separately. The device supports up to 128GB capacity.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 LED Indicator Status

The status indicator light provides important feedback on the device's current mode:

  • Solid Red: Device is powered on and in standby mode.
  • Flashing Red: Recording in progress.
  • Solid Blue: Motion detection standby.
  • Flashing Blue: Motion detection recording.
  • Solid Green: Charging (light turns off when fully charged).

4.2 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 2-3 seconds. The red indicator light will illuminate, indicating standby mode.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 2-3 seconds. The indicator lights will turn off.

4.3 Video Recording

  • From standby mode (solid red light), press the Photo and Video Key once to start video recording. The red light will flash.
  • To stop recording, press the Photo and Video Key again. The device will save the video file and return to standby mode (solid red light).

4.4 Photo Capture

  • From standby mode (solid red light), press the Mobile Detection / Night Vision ON/OFF Button once to switch to photo mode. The indicator light may change (refer to specific model behavior if different from general LED status).
  • Press the Photo and Video Key once to take a photo. The light will flash briefly.
  • To return to video standby, press the Mobile Detection / Night Vision ON/OFF Button again.

4.5 Motion Detection Recording

  • From standby mode (solid red light), press and hold the Mobile Detection / Night Vision ON/OFF Button for 2-3 seconds to activate motion detection. The indicator light will turn solid blue.
  • When motion is detected, the blue light will flash, and the device will automatically begin recording. Recording will stop and save the file when motion ceases.
  • To exit motion detection mode, press and hold the Mobile Detection / Night Vision ON/OFF Button again for 2-3 seconds. The device will return to standby mode (solid red light).

4.6 Night Vision Activation

  • Night vision is typically activated automatically in low-light conditions when recording. Some models may have a dedicated toggle or integrate it with the motion detection button. Refer to the specific button functions in Section 2.2.
  • The night vision lamps are designed to be invisible during operation.

4.7 Viewing Recordings

To view recorded videos and photos, connect the car key camera to your computer using the provided USB cable. The device will appear as a removable disk. You can then access the files stored on the Micro SD card. Alternatively, you can remove the Micro SD card and insert it into a card reader connected to your computer.

5. Maintenance

  • Keep the device dry. Avoid exposure to water or high humidity.
  • Clean the lens gently with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear recordings.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures. Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or very cold environments.
  • Regularly back up important recordings from the Micro SD card to prevent data loss.
  • Format the Micro SD card periodically (e.g., monthly) to maintain optimal performance and prevent fragmentation.

6. Troubleshooting
