1. Setup
1.1 Unboxing and Inspection
Carefully remove the Nebula Touchscreen Computer from its packaging. Inspect the device for any signs of damage during transit. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or service needs.
1.2 Connecting Power
- Locate the power adapter included with your device.
- Connect the power adapter cable to the DC-in port on the rear of the Nebula device.
- Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
1.3 Initial Boot-up
Once connected to power, the device should automatically power on. If not, press the power button located on the side or rear of the unit. The device will boot into the Android 12 operating system or the pre-configured STAROS Kiosk Lockdown App.

1.4 Network Connection
The Nebula device supports both Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity.
- Wi-Fi: Navigate to Android Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi. Select your desired network and enter the password if prompted.
- Ethernet: Connect an Ethernet cable from your network router or switch to the RJ45 Ethernet port on the rear of the device. The device will automatically attempt to obtain an IP address via DHCP.
1.5 Peripheral Attachment
The Nebula device is designed to integrate with various optional peripherals such as RFID/NFC readers and barcode scanners. These modules attach to the edges of the tablet. Refer to the specific peripheral's manual for detailed attachment and configuration instructions.

2. Operating Instructions
2.1 Power On/Off
- Power On: Connect the power adapter. The device will typically power on automatically. If not, press the power button.
- Power Off: Press and hold the power button until a power menu appears on the screen. Select 'Power off'. Alternatively, you can unplug the power adapter, but this is not recommended for regular shutdown.
2.2 Touchscreen Interaction
The Nebula features a responsive capacitive touchscreen. Use your finger to tap, swipe, pinch, and zoom as you would with any standard Android tablet.
2.3 Android 12 OS Navigation
Familiarize yourself with the standard Android interface for accessing applications, settings, and notifications. The device may be configured to launch directly into the STAROS Kiosk Lockdown App.
2.4 STAROS Kiosk Lockdown App
The pre-installed STAROS Kiosk Lockdown App allows you to restrict device usage to specific applications or web pages, preventing unauthorized access. This is ideal for public-facing kiosks.

2.5 Star Control Mobile Device Management (MDM)
Your device includes a 1-year subscription to Star Control MDM. This platform allows for remote management of multiple devices, including application deployment, security policies, and device monitoring. Access to the Star Control MDM portal will be provided separately upon subscription activation.
2.6 Camera and Audio
The integrated 2MP camera can be used for video calls or specific applications. The dual 2W speakers provide clear audio output. Adjust volume through the Android system settings or physical buttons if available.

3.1 Cleaning the Device
