6.2. Switching Temperature Units (0F/0C)
To switch between Fahrenheit (0F) and Celsius (0C), press the 0C/0F button located below the display.
6.3. Adjusting Emissivity
Emissivity is the ability of a material to emit thermal energy. Different materials have different emissivity values. Adjusting the emissivity setting improves measurement accuracy for various surfaces.
- Press the "MODE" button to cycle through display modes until "EMISS" is shown.
- Use the Up (25b2) and Down (25bc) arrow buttons to adjust the emissivity value from 0.1 to 1.0.
- Refer to the table below for common emissivity values.

8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your TempPro D50 thermometer, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display/Device won't turn on | Dead or incorrectly installed batteries | Replace batteries with new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. |
| Inaccurate readings | Incorrect emissivity setting; Distance too far/too close; Lens dirty; Ambient temperature too extreme | Adjust emissivity for the target material; Ensure proper distance (16:1 DSR); Clean the lens; Allow device to acclimate to ambient temperature. |
| Laser not visible | Laser function off; Bright ambient light | Check if laser is enabled (refer to operating instructions); Use in less bright conditions if possible. |
| Display shows "OL" or "-OL" | Temperature is outside the measurement range | Ensure the target temperature is within -580F to 10220F (-500C to 5500C). |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
