4. Setup and Installation

The Jadeshay SVP-916 is designed for DIN rail mounting. Ensure all power is disconnected before installation.

4.1 Installation Steps

  1. Power Disconnection: Before any installation or wiring, ensure the main power supply to the circuit is completely disconnected at the circuit breaker.
  2. Mounting: Securely mount the SVP-916 onto a standard DIN rail within your electrical distribution box. The device features a rail buckle for firm attachment.
  3. Wiring: Connect the incoming neutral line to the 'N IN' terminal and the incoming live wire to the 'L IN' terminal. Connect the outgoing neutral line to the 'N OUT' terminal and the outgoing live wire to the 'L OUT' terminal. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
  4. Front Circuit Breaker: Always use a small circuit breaker upstream of the protector to provide additional protection against insulation faults and short circuits.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed and powered, the SVP-916 will display the current voltage and current. You can adjust the protection parameters using the control buttons.

5.1 Parameter Adjustment

  1. Enter Setting Mode: Press the SET button to enter the parameter adjustment mode. The display will show the current setting for overvoltage, undervoltage, or overcurrent.
  2. Navigate Parameters: Use the SET button to cycle through the adjustable parameters (e.g., overvoltage threshold, undervoltage threshold, overcurrent limit, recovery delay, power-on delay).
  3. Adjust Values: Use the Up (▲) and Down (▼) buttons to increase or decrease the value of the selected parameter.
  4. Save Settings: After adjusting a parameter, wait a few seconds without pressing any buttons. The device will automatically save the new setting and exit the adjustment mode.

5.2 Normal Operation

During normal operation, the device continuously monitors the line voltage and current. The digital display shows real-time values. If a fault condition (overvoltage, undervoltage, or overcurrent) occurs, the protector will trip and cut off power to the load. After the fault condition clears and the set recovery delay time has passed, the protector will automatically restore power.

6. Safety Precautions

  • Always ensure the main power supply is disconnected before performing any installation, wiring, or maintenance on the protector.
  • Install a small circuit breaker upstream of the protector for additional protection against insulation faults and short circuits.
  • The neutral line (N) of the protector is directly connected and does not have a disconnection function. This means the neutral line remains connected even when the protector trips.
  • Pay close attention to the maximum protection current value of the protector (40A for this model) and ensure the connected load does not exceed this rating.
  • If the undervoltage trip time exceeds 0.3 seconds, the protector may not open after a power failure. This is an important consideration for specific power failure scenarios.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Protector Trips Frequently: Check the connected load for overcurrents or short circuits. Verify that the voltage supply is stable and within the set parameters. Adjust protection thresholds if necessary, but ensure they remain within safe operating limits for your equipment.
  • No Power After Overcurrent Protection: If the protector trips due to overcurrent, immediately remove the load electrical appliance and check the circuit for faults. If overcurrent exceeds 5 times within the specified delay, the protection lock will not automatically restore power. In this case, you must manually press the SET button to unlock and restore power.
  • Display Not Working: Check the power supply to the device. Ensure all wiring connections are secure.

8. Maintenance

The Jadeshay SVP-916 is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance. Regular checks can help ensure its longevity and proper function:

  • Periodically inspect the device for any visible damage or loose connections.
  • Ensure the area around the protector is clean and free from dust or debris that could obstruct ventilation.
  • Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself. Refer to qualified personnel for any repairs.

9. Warranty and Support

Specific warranty information for the Jadeshay SVP-916 is not provided within this manual. For warranty details, technical support, or service inquiries, please refer to the product packaging or contact your point of purchase or the manufacturer directly.
