Before First Use

Before using your percolator for the first time, it is important to clean all parts thoroughly.

  1. Wash the percolator pot, lid, stem, and basket in warm, soapy water.
  2. Rinse all parts thoroughly with clean water.
  3. Dry all parts completely before assembly.
  4. It is recommended to run one cycle with plain water to rinse out any manufacturing residues. Discard this water.

Setup

Follow these steps to set up your percolator for brewing:

  1. Ensure the percolator is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the lid, coffee basket, and pump tube from the percolator pot.
  3. Fill the percolator pot with cold, fresh water according to the desired number of cups. Do not fill above the 12-cup mark.
  4. Place the pump tube into the center well at the bottom of the percolator pot. Ensure it is seated correctly.
  5. Place the coffee basket onto the top of the pump tube.
  6. Add desired amount of coarse ground coffee to the coffee basket. For best results, use coarse grounds to prevent grounds from entering the brewed coffee.
  7. Place the lid securely onto the percolator pot.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

  1. After setting up the percolator as described in the "Setup" section, place the percolator onto its power base.
  2. Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.
  3. Press the power button located on the front of the base. The indicator light will illuminate, indicating that brewing has started.
  4. The percolator will begin to brew. You can observe the brewing progress through the clear knob on the lid.
  5. Once brewing is complete, the percolator will automatically switch to the "Keep Warm" function. The indicator light will change color (e.g., from red to blue) to signify this transition.
  6. Unplug the percolator from the outlet when coffee is ready to serve or when the keep warm cycle is complete.

Keep Warm Function

The percolator automatically activates a "Keep Warm" function after the brewing cycle is complete.

  • When the brewing cycle finishes, the indicator light will turn blue, signifying that the Keep Warm timer has begun.
  • The percolator will keep the coffee warm for up to 2 hours.
  • After 2 hours, the unit will automatically turn off.
  • To manually end the Keep Warm function before 2 hours, press the power button once.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your percolator.

  1. Always unplug the percolator and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

  3. Discard used coffee grounds.
  4. Wash the lid, coffee basket, and pump tube in warm, soapy water. These parts are dishwasher safe.
  5. Clean the interior of the percolator pot with a soft cloth or sponge and warm, soapy water. Do not immerse the percolator base in water.
  6. Wipe the exterior of the percolator with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the stainless steel finish.
  7. For mineral deposits or hard water stains, fill the percolator with a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar. Bring to a boil and let it sit for 30 minutes before discarding the solution and rinsing thoroughly.
  8. Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing.
