4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
- The 8-inch search coil is waterproof. After use, you can rinse it with fresh water to remove dirt and debris.
- The control box is not waterproof. Wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the control box in water.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the detector's finish or electronic components.
4.2 Storage
- Store the metal detector in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- For prolonged storage, remove the batteries from the control box to prevent leakage and corrosion.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Detector Emits Constant Sound
If the metal detector produces a continuous or erratic sound, consider the following:
- Test Outdoors: Testing indoors is not recommended due to potential interference from household electronics and metal objects.
- Adjust Sensitivity: Reduce the sensitivity setting and increase the height between the search coil and the ground.
- Avoid Mineralized Areas: The detector may react to highly mineralized ground. It is not recommended for use in such areas without proper ground balancing techniques (if available for this model).
- Check Connections: Ensure the connecting line of the main controller (search coil cable) is plugged in tightly.
- Battery Type: Ensure you are using two 9V alkaline batteries. Avoid using 9V carbon batteries, as they may not provide sufficient power.
5.2 'LOW BATTERY' Indication
If the display shows 'LOW BATTERY', replace both 9V batteries with fresh alkaline batteries immediately to ensure proper operation.
