4.2 Mounting

Mount the assembled CPE unit securely to a pole or wall in an elevated position, ensuring a clear line of sight towards the target device for optimal signal transmission. The IP65 enclosure protects against dust and water ingress.

4.3 Powering On with PoE

The Tenda O8 is powered using the included Passive PoE Injector. Connect an Ethernet cable from the O8's LAN port to the PoE port on the injector. Connect another Ethernet cable from the LAN port on the injector to your computer or network switch. Finally, connect the power adapter to the PoE injector and a power outlet. This setup allows for flexible deployment up to 50 meters from the power source.

5. Operating Modes

The Tenda O8 supports various operating modes to suit different network requirements.

5.1 Point-to-Point (PtP) and Point-to-Multi-Point (PtMP)

In PtP mode, one O8 device operates as an Access Point (AP) and another as a Station, creating a dedicated long-distance wireless link. For PtMP, one O8 acts as an AP, connecting to multiple O8 devices configured as Stations. This is ideal for private ISP wireless connectivity, CCTV surveillance, and data transmission between buildings.

5.2 WISP (Client + Router) Mode

In WISP mode, the O8 connects wirelessly to a WISP station or hotspot. It then shares the internet connection over a local wired and wireless network, acting as both a client to the WISP and a router for local devices.
