3. Product Overview
3.1 Key Features
- High Speed & Frequency: Operates on the 5GHz frequency band with a maximum wireless speed of 433Mbps.
- Long-Range Transmission: Integrated 23dBi directional antenna supports stable signal transmission up to 20km.
- Auto-Bridge Technology: Simplifies setup for Point-to-Point connections between two O8 devices.
- Multiple Operating Modes: Supports AP, Station, WISP (Client + Router), Point-to-Point (PtP), and Point-to-Multi-Point (PtMP) modes.
- Passive PoE Powered: Flexible deployment with Power over Ethernet (PoE) adapter, allowing up to 50 meters of cable length.
- Robust Design: IP65 waterproof enclosure for outdoor use and built-in 6KV lightning protection.
- Interference Avoidance: Features Channel Shift to offset the central frequency by 5MHz, reducing interference from nearby APs.

4. Installation
4.1 Assembly
The Tenda O8 is designed for easy assembly. Attach the reflector panel to the CPE unit, then secure it to the CPE seat and universal shaft for mounting.
4.2 Mounting
Mount the assembled CPE unit securely to a pole or wall in an elevated position, ensuring a clear line of sight towards the target device for optimal signal transmission. The IP65 enclosure protects against dust and water ingress.
4.3 Powering On with PoE
The Tenda O8 is powered using the included Passive PoE Injector. Connect an Ethernet cable from the O8's LAN port to the PoE port on the injector. Connect another Ethernet cable from the LAN port on the injector to your computer or network switch. Finally, connect the power adapter to the PoE injector and a power outlet. This setup allows for flexible deployment up to 50 meters from the power source.
5. Operating Modes
The Tenda O8 supports various operating modes to suit different network requirements.
5.1 Point-to-Point (PtP) and Point-to-Multi-Point (PtMP)
In PtP mode, one O8 device operates as an Access Point (AP) and another as a Station, creating a dedicated long-distance wireless link. For PtMP, one O8 acts as an AP, connecting to multiple O8 devices configured as Stations. This is ideal for private ISP wireless connectivity, CCTV surveillance, and data transmission between buildings.

5.2 WISP (Client + Router) Mode
In WISP mode, the O8 connects wirelessly to a WISP station or hotspot. It then shares the internet connection over a local wired and wireless network, acting as both a client to the WISP and a router for local devices.

6. Advanced Features
6.1 Lightning Protection
The Tenda O8 features a built-in power supply module with enhanced 6KV lightning protection. This design effectively safeguards the device from damage caused by adverse thunderstorms, ensuring reliable operation in outdoor environments.
6.2 Channel Shift
To minimize interference from nearby Access Points, the O8 includes a Channel Shift feature. This allows the central frequency to be offset by 5MHz, which can improve throughput and connection stability in congested wireless environments.

7. Maintenance
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check the physical condition of the device, cables, and mounting hardware for any signs of wear or damage.
- Cleaning: Ensure the device's exterior is clean and free from dirt, dust, or debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Environmental Considerations: While the device is IP65 rated, avoid exposing it to extreme conditions beyond its operating specifications.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1 No Power
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the PoE injector and a working power outlet.
- Verify the Ethernet cable from the PoE injector's PoE port is correctly connected to the O8 device.
- Check if the power outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
8.2 No Wireless Connection
- Confirm that the O8 is powered on and its indicator lights are functioning correctly.
- Ensure the O8 is configured in the appropriate operating mode (e.g., AP, Station, WISP).
- Check the line of sight between the O8 and the client device or other CPE. Obstructions can significantly degrade signal quality.
- Verify wireless settings such as SSID, security type, and password.
- Consider using the Channel Shift feature to avoid interference from other 5GHz networks.
8.3 Slow Connection Speed
- Ensure optimal alignment of the O8's antenna towards the target device.
- Reduce the distance between devices if possible, or ensure there are no new obstructions.
- Check for sources of interference and adjust the channel using the Channel Shift feature.
- Verify that connected devices support 5GHz 802.11ac for maximum speed.
