1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your MINISFORUM EliteMini HX90 Mini PC. The HX90 is a compact desktop computer featuring an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, designed for various applications from daily computing to demanding tasks.

2. Setup

2.1 Package Contents

Before proceeding with the setup, please verify that all items listed below are present in your package:

• 1x MINISFORUM HX90 Mini PC
• 1x Mounting Bracket
• 1x HDMI Cable
• 1x Power Adapter
• 1x US Manual

2.2 Physical Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Mini PC:

1. Connect Peripherals: Connect your monitor(s) to the HDMI or DisplayPort outputs. Connect your keyboard, mouse, and other USB devices to the available USB ports.
2. Network Connection: For wired internet access, connect an Ethernet cable to the 2.5Gbps LAN port. For wireless connectivity, ensure the Wi-Fi antenna is properly connected (if external).
3. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the DC 19V input port on the Mini PC, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
4. Placement: Place the Mini PC on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation. The included mounting bracket can be used to attach the PC to the back of a VESA-compatible monitor for a cleaner setup.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Initial Power On and Operating System

Press the power button located on the front of the Mini PC to turn it on. The system comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro. Follow the on-screen instructions for the initial Windows setup.

3.2 Display Configuration

The HX90 supports up to four independent 4K@60Hz displays via its two HDMI 2.0 and two DisplayPort outputs. This allows for an expanded workspace, enhancing productivity for tasks such as video editing, graphic design, or multi-monitor gaming setups.

3.3 Storage and Memory Expansion

The Mini PC offers flexible options for storage and memory upgrades:

• Memory (RAM): Equipped with dual-channel DDR4 32GB (2x 16GB) 3200MHz RAM, which can be upgraded to a total of 64GB (32GB per SODIMM slot).
• SSD: A 512GB M.2 2280 PCIe SSD is pre-installed and can be replaced with an SSD up to 2TB for faster data transmission speeds.
• HDD: Two 2.5-inch SATA HDD slots (SATA 3.0 6.0Gb/s compatible, up to 7mm thickness per piece) are available for adding large-capacity hard drives, allowing for significant storage expansion at a lower cost.

3.4 Network Performance

The HX90 features a 2.5Gbps LAN port, providing enhanced network performance compared to standard Gigabit Ethernet. This allows for faster data transfer speeds, beneficial for large file transfers, network-attached storage (NAS) access, and online gaming.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To ensure optimal performance and longevity, regularly clean the exterior of your Mini PC with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners directly on the device. Ensure ventilation grilles are free from dust accumulation to maintain proper airflow.

4.2 Cooling System

The HX90 incorporates a liquid metal cooling solution to maintain stable operation and prevent thermal throttling during prolonged use. While the system is designed for efficient heat dissipation, ensuring proper ventilation around the device is crucial.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Common Issues

• No Display Output: Ensure all display cables (HDMI/DisplayPort) are securely connected to both the Mini PC and the monitor. Verify the monitor input source is correctly selected.
• System Not Powering On: Check if the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and a working power outlet. Try a different power outlet if available.
• Intermittent HDMI Flickering: This can sometimes occur. Ensure your HDMI cable is of good quality and securely connected. Updating graphics drivers may also resolve this.
• Static Electricity Sensitivity: While designed robustly, electronic devices can be sensitive to static discharge. Handle the Mini PC with care, especially in dry environments, and consider using anti-static measures if issues persist.
• Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues (Linux): For Linux users, some Wi-Fi chipsets (e.g., Mediatek MT7921K) may require newer kernel versions or specific driver installations for stable operation. Consider using a wired Ethernet connection or an Intel AX200/AX210 M.2 Wi-Fi card as an alternative if issues persist.
