5. Setup and Installation
5.1 Choosing Installation Method: Submersible or External
The JDP-10000Q pump is designed for both submersible and external (in-line) applications.
- Submersible Use: Place the pump entirely underwater in your aquarium or pond. Ensure the intake screen is clear of debris.
- External Use: Position the pump outside the water source. Important: Before starting the pump for external use, it is crucial to prime it by pouring water into the pump chamber until it is full. This prevents dry running, which can damage the motor.
5.2 Connecting Hose Fittings
- Select the appropriate hose connector from the provided fittings (25mm, 30mm, 40mm, or the stepped 20/25/32/40mm) that matches your tubing size.
- Thread the chosen fitting securely onto the pump's outlet.
- Connect your aquarium or pond tubing to the fitting. Use hose clamps (not included) for a secure, leak-free connection, especially for external setups.
5.3 Power Connection
- Connect the pump's cable to the smart controller.
- Connect the power adapter to the smart controller.
- Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet has a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety, especially in aquatic environments.
5.4 WiFi Mobile Phone Control Setup
The pump features WiFi connectivity for control via a mobile application. Refer to the separate WiFi setup guide or the instructions provided with the smart controller for detailed steps on connecting the pump to your home WiFi network and pairing it with the mobile app.
6. Operation
Once installed and powered on, the pump can be controlled via its intelligent control panel or the mobile application.
6.1 Adjusting Flow and Power
The smart controller allows for precise adjustment of the pump's flow rate and power consumption. The pump offers 99 adjustable speed settings. Use the controls on the smart panel or the mobile app to increase or decrease the pump's output to suit your aquarium or pond's needs.
6.2 Feeding Mode
The pump includes a convenient 10-minute pause feed mode. Activating this mode will temporarily stop the pump for 10 minutes, allowing fish to feed without food being immediately drawn into filtration systems. After 10 minutes, the pump will automatically resume its previous operation.

6.3 Memory Function
The smart controller is equipped with a memory function. This feature ensures that the pump retains its last settings (e.g., flow rate, speed) even after a power interruption or restart, eliminating the need to reconfigure settings each time.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your pump.
- Disconnect Power: Always unplug the pump from the power outlet before performing any maintenance.
- Clean Impeller: Periodically remove the pump's front cover and impeller assembly. Clean any accumulated debris, algae, or calcium deposits from the impeller and its housing using a soft brush and clean water. For stubborn deposits, a mild vinegar solution can be used, followed by thorough rinsing.
- Check Intake Screen: Ensure the intake screen is free from obstructions to maintain proper water flow.
- Inspect Cords and Connections: Regularly check the power cord, controller cable, and hose connections for any signs of wear, damage, or leaks.
- Rinse Thoroughly: After cleaning, rinse all components thoroughly with clean water before reassembling and reconnecting the pump.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your pump, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Pump Not Starting:
- Check if the power adapter is securely plugged into the outlet and the controller.
- Ensure the pump cable is properly connected to the controller.
- Verify the power outlet is functional.
- Inspect the power cord and controller for any visible damage.
- Reduced Flow Rate:
- Check for blockages in the intake screen or impeller. Clean as described in the Maintenance section.
- Ensure hoses are not kinked or obstructed.
- Verify the flow setting on the controller or app is at the desired level.
- For external use, ensure the pump is properly primed.
- Unusual Noise:
- Disconnect power and check the impeller for foreign objects or damage.
- Ensure the pump is securely placed and not vibrating against other surfaces.
- If used externally, ensure it is fully primed and not drawing air.
- WiFi Connectivity Issues:
- Ensure your mobile device is within range of your WiFi network.
- Restart the pump and controller.
- Refer to the specific WiFi setup guide for troubleshooting network connection problems.
If problems persist, contact customer support.
