Setup
Components and Initial Assembly
Your Philips Sonicare 4100 package includes the toothbrush handle, one C2 Optimal Plaque Control brush head, and a USB charging base. To assemble, simply align the brush head with the metal shaft on the handle and push it down until it clicks into place.

Charging the Toothbrush
Before first use, fully charge your toothbrush. Place the handle on the USB charging base. The battery indicator light on the handle will show the charging status. A full charge can last up to 14 days with regular use.

Operating Instructions
Powering On and Intensity Settings
Press the power button once to turn on the toothbrush. The Philips Sonicare 4100 offers two intensity settings. Press the power button a second time to switch between the lower and higher intensity modes. The toothbrush will remember your last selected intensity setting for future use.

Brushing Technique
Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the brush head. Place the brush head against your teeth at a slight angle towards the gumline. Press the power button to start brushing. There is no need to scrub; let the sonic technology do the work for you. Gently move the brush head slowly across each tooth, focusing on one area at a time.

SmarTimer and QuadPacer
The built-in SmarTimer ensures you brush for the dentist-recommended two minutes. The QuadPacer feature divides your brushing time into four 30-second intervals, signaling you to move to the next quadrant of your mouth for a thorough and even clean.

Pressure Sensor
The integrated pressure sensor protects your teeth and gums. If you apply too much pressure, the toothbrush will automatically reduce its vibrations and emit a pulsating sound to alert you, helping to prevent damage to your gums and enamel.

Maintenance
Brush Head Replacement
For optimal performance and hygiene, it is recommended to replace your brush head every three months, or sooner if the bristles appear frayed or worn. The BrushSync replacement reminder on your handle will also alert you when it's time to replace the brush head.

Cleaning
