Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
To start the saw, press the safety lock-off button (if present) and then squeeze the trigger switch. Release the trigger switch to turn off the saw.
2. Using the Laser Guide and LED Light
The integrated LED light illuminates the cutting area, while the laser guide projects a line onto the workpiece, assisting in maintaining a straight cut line. Activate these features as needed for improved visibility and accuracy.
3. Making Cuts
- Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped.
- Hold the saw firmly with both hands, utilizing the auxiliary handle for a secure grip.
- Allow the blade to reach full speed (0-4000 RPM) before engaging the material.
- Guide the saw smoothly through the material, maintaining a consistent feed rate. Avoid forcing the saw, as this can lead to kickback or damage to the blade/motor.
- For bevel cuts, ensure the bevel angle is set correctly before starting the cut.
Maintenance
1. Blade Care
Regularly inspect the saw blade for sharpness, damage, or missing teeth. A dull or damaged blade can cause kickback and reduce cutting efficiency. Replace worn blades promptly with a suitable 190mm, 20mm arbor, 24-tooth TCT blade.
2. Cleaning
After each use, disconnect the battery and clean the tool. Remove sawdust and debris from the blade guard, motor vents, and base plate using a brush or compressed air. Do not use solvents that could damage plastic parts.
3. Storage
Store the circular saw in a clean, dry place, out of reach of children. Ensure the blade is protected to prevent accidental contact or damage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Ferrex 40V Cordless Circular Saw, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Tool not starting: Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly inserted. Check if the safety lock-off button is fully depressed before squeezing the trigger.
- Reduced cutting performance: The blade may be dull or damaged. Replace the blade. Ensure the cutting depth is set correctly for the material.
- Excessive vibration or noise: Check if the blade is securely installed and not warped. Ensure all fasteners are tight.
- Saw stops during operation: This may indicate an overload. Reduce the feed rate or check for obstructions. The tool may have an internal protection mechanism that temporarily shuts it down.
