6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Godox TT685II-N Speedlite, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
Flash does not fire.
  • Check battery level and ensure batteries are inserted correctly.
  • Ensure the flash is securely mounted on the camera hot shoe.
  • Verify the flash is powered on.
  • Check camera flash settings (e.g., external flash enabled).
  • If in wireless mode, ensure master and slave units are on the same channel and ID.
Flash output is too dark/bright.
  • Adjust Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC) on the flash or camera.
  • In Manual mode, adjust the power output.
  • Check ISO, aperture, and shutter speed settings on the camera.
  • Ensure flash coverage (zoom) matches lens focal length.
Slow recycle time.
  • Batteries may be low; replace or recharge.
  • Using full power flashes frequently will increase recycle time.
  • Consider using an external power pack (e.g., Godox PB960, sold separately) for faster recycling.
Wireless triggering issues.
  • Ensure all units (master/slave) are set to the same channel and ID.
  • Check for obstructions between master and slave units.
  • Verify units are within the effective transmission range (100m).
  • Ensure the slave unit is not in "Off" mode for wireless function.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Godox TT685II-N Speedlite, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep the flash unit dry. Do not expose it to rain, moisture, or high humidity.
  • Clean the flash body with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth with mild detergent, then wipe dry.
  • Avoid touching the flash tube directly with bare hands, as oils can reduce its lifespan. If touched, clean with a lint-free cloth and alcohol.
  • Store the flash in its protection case when not in use to prevent dust and scratches.
  • Remove batteries if the flash will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Avoid strong impacts or dropping the unit.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the flash yourself. Refer to authorized service personnel.
