6. Troubleshooting
If your Honeywell HPA080 Air Purifier is not operating correctly, please refer to the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Unit does not turn on. | Not plugged in; power outage; filter cover not closed properly. | Ensure power cord is securely plugged in. Check circuit breaker. Verify filter cover is fully closed and latched. |
| Reduced airflow or poor air cleaning. | Filters are dirty or clogged; protective plastic not removed from filters. | Check and replace filters if necessary. Ensure all plastic packaging has been removed from new filters. |
| Unit is unusually noisy. | Filters are improperly installed; foreign object in unit; unit on uneven surface. | Check filter installation. Turn off and unplug, then inspect for obstructions. Place unit on a stable, level surface. Note that higher fan speeds will naturally produce more sound. |
| Air Quality Indicator always red/yellow despite clean filters. | High levels of pollutants in the room; sensor is dirty. | Ensure no strong odors or pollutants are present. Gently clean the air quality sensor opening with a dry cotton swab. |
| Filter Reset Light remains on after filter change. | Filter reset button not pressed correctly. | With the unit powered on, press and hold the Filter Check/Reset Light button for approximately 2 seconds until the light turns off. |
