Shefmon Shockwave Therapy Machine SW14B User Manual

Model: SW14B

1. Product Overview

The Shefmon SW14B Shockwave Therapy Machine is an electromagnetic extracorporeal shock wave device designed for pain relief and muscle relaxation. It utilizes shockwave technology to address various musculoskeletal conditions and promote physical well-being.

1.1 Principle of Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy involves the application of acoustic waves with a rapid increase in pressure within a very short time, followed by a gradual decrease in pressure. This process is intended to stimulate healing and reduce pain in affected tissues.

2. Important Safety Instructions

Please read all safety information before using the device. Improper use can lead to injury or device damage.

  • Consult a healthcare professional before using this device, especially if you have pre-existing medical conditions or are pregnant.
  • Do not use the device near water or in wet environments as it is not water resistant.
  • Ensure the power cord is properly connected and free from damage. This is a corded electric device.
  • Always use the correct percussion massage therapy technique as described in this manual.
  • Avoid applying excessive pressure or focusing on any one area for too long to prevent bruising or discomfort.
  • Do not apply shockwave therapy to sensitive areas including the head, major blood vessels, or directly over bones and artificial joints.
  • Keep the device out of reach of children.
  • Wear hearing protection during operation as the device can produce loud sounds.

5. Setup

5.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

5.2 Connecting the Handle

Locate the shockwave work head jack on the main unit (refer to Figure 4). Align the connector on the handle with the jack and push firmly until it clicks into place.

5.3 Attaching Probes

Select the desired massage head (probe). To attach, screw the probe clockwise onto the handle until secure. To remove, unscrew counter-clockwise. Ensure the probe is firmly attached before use.

5.4 Power Connection

Connect the power cord to the main unit and then to a suitable electrical outlet (AC110-240V/50-60HZ). Ensure the main power switch on the back of the unit is in the 'ON' position.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Powering On

After connecting the power, turn on the main switch located on the back of the device. The touch screen display will illuminate.

6.2 Understanding the Control Panel

The touch screen panel allows you to control the device's settings. Refer to Figure 5 for a detailed layout.

  • Power + / Power -: Adjusts the energy intensity.
  • Frequency + / Frequency -: Adjusts the shockwave frequency.
  • Body Part Modes: Pre-set modes for specific areas like Shoulder, Upper Arm, Forearm, Thigh, Leg, Buttock, Back, Abdomen, Scapular, Twist, Low Frequency.
  • General Purpose Mode: Allows manual adjustment of power and frequency.
  • Shockwave Work Head Jack: Connection point for the handle.

6.3 Selecting Modes

The device offers two primary modes:

  • Default Mode (Body Part Specific): Touch an image representing a body part on the screen (e.g., Shoulder, Knee). This mode has pre-set frequency and power levels suitable for most people.
  • General Purpose Mode: Select this mode to manually adjust the frequency and power levels using the 'Power +'/'Power -' and 'Frequency +'/'Frequency -' buttons. This mode offers greater customization.

Figure 6: Explanation of General-purpose and Default modes.

6.4 Adjusting Settings (General Purpose Mode)

In General Purpose Mode, use the 'Power +' and 'Power -' buttons to increase or decrease the energy intensity (50-200MJ). Use the 'Frequency +' and 'Frequency -' buttons to adjust the frequency (1-16Hz). Always start with the lowest intensity and gradually increase to a comfortable level. Adjust the parameter according to the user manual and individual pain thresholds.

6.5 Applying Gel

Before applying the probe to the skin, apply a sufficient amount of conductive gel to the treatment area. The gel helps to transmit the energy effectively to the affected tissues. The product does not include gel; please purchase separately. It is also recommended to use covers while operating to avoid gel entering the probe.

6.6 Treatment Application

Place the probe firmly against the skin over the target area. Move the probe slowly and steadily over the area. The duration and intensity of treatment should be based on individual needs and comfort. Refer to Figure 7 for examples of application.

  • Storage: Store the device and its accessories in the provided case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

9. Troubleshooting Guide

If you encounter issues with your Shefmon SW14B, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device Not Powering On:
Solution: Check if the power cord is securely connected to both the device and the electrical outlet. Ensure the main power switch on the back of the unit is in the 'ON' position.
  • No Shockwave Output:
Solution: Verify that the handle is correctly connected to the main unit. Ensure a probe is securely attached to the handle. Check if a mode is selected and parameters are set. Press the green button on the handle to ensure it's not paused.
  • Overheating:
Solution: If the device feels excessively warm, stop operation immediately. Allow the machine to rest for at least 10 minutes to cool down. Ensure the cooling vents are not obstructed.
  • Probe Issues (e.g., loose, damaged):
Solution: Ensure probes are screwed on tightly. If a probe appears damaged, replace it with a new one. Do not use damaged probes.
