3. Setup Instructions
The M-1200DN repeater offers multiple setup methods. The WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) method is recommended for quick and easy configuration.
3.1. WPS Quick Setup
This method allows you to connect the repeater to your existing router with a simple button press, eliminating the need for manual password entry.
- Step 1: Plug the M-1200DN repeater into a power outlet near your existing wireless router. Wait for the System LED to light up steadily.
- Step 2: Within 2 minutes of powering on the repeater, press the WPS button on your wireless router for 3-4 seconds.
- Step 3: Immediately after pressing the WPS button on your router, press the WPS button on the M-1200DN repeater for 4-6 seconds.
- Step 4: Wait for the WPS LED on the repeater to turn solid. This indicates a successful wireless connection between your router and the extender.

3.2. Manual Setup (Web Interface)
If your router does not support WPS or you prefer manual configuration, you can set up the repeater via its web interface.
- Step 1: Plug the M-1200DN repeater into a power outlet.
- Step 2: Connect your computer or mobile device to the repeater's default Wi-Fi network (usually named something like "Wireless-AC" or similar, without a password).
- Step 3: Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (check the label on the device or the included manual for the exact IP, commonly 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.10.1) or the default web address (e.g., repeater.net).
- Step 4: Follow the on-screen instructions to select your existing Wi-Fi network, enter its password, and configure the repeater's settings (e.g., new SSID for the extended network).
- Step 5: Once configured, the repeater will restart. You can then connect your devices to the new extended Wi-Fi network.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Repeater Mode
In repeater mode, the M-1200DN extends the range of your existing Wi-Fi network. It receives the signal from your main router and re-broadcasts it, effectively expanding your coverage area.
- After successful setup, the repeater will automatically extend your network.
- You can move the repeater to an optimal location between your router and the desired coverage area. Ensure the Extension LED is solid, indicating a good signal from the main router.
- The dual-band capability allows devices to connect to either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz extended network, depending on their compatibility and proximity.

Figure 4.2: Depiction of the M-1200DN's ability to provide strong signal penetration, allowing Wi-Fi to reach areas like bedrooms, floors, balconies, garages, and gardens.
4.2. Router Mode (Access Point Mode)
The M-1200DN can also function as an access point (AP), converting a wired internet connection into a wireless one.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from your modem or a wired network port to the WAN/LAN port on the M-1200DN.
- Configure the device in AP mode via the web interface. It will then broadcast a new Wi-Fi network for your wireless devices.
4.3. Wired Connectivity
The RJ45 ports allow you to connect wired devices (e.g., smart TVs, gaming consoles, desktop computers) to the network, providing a stable and fast connection.
- Simply connect an Ethernet cable from your wired device to one of the available LAN ports on the repeater.
5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your M-1200DN repeater.
- Placement: Place the device in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and obstructions that could block the signal.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates. Keeping the firmware updated can improve performance, add new features, and fix bugs.
- Heat Dissipation: The 3-sided heat dissipation design helps maintain optimal operating temperature. Ensure the ventilation holes are not blocked.
- Power Cycle: If you experience connectivity issues, try power cycling the device (unplug it from the power outlet for 10 seconds, then plug it back in).
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your M-1200DN repeater, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
- No Power/LEDs Off:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely plugged into the repeater and a working power outlet.
- Try a different power outlet.
- Cannot Connect to the Repeater's Wi-Fi:
- Ensure the repeater is powered on and its Wi-Fi is broadcasting (System LED is solid).
- If you changed the repeater's Wi-Fi name (SSID) or password, ensure you are using the correct credentials.
- Try resetting the repeater to factory defaults (refer to the manual for reset instructions, usually a small reset button).
- No Internet Access After Connecting to Repeater:
- Check if your main router has internet access.
- Ensure the repeater is successfully connected to your main router (Extension LED should be solid). If not, re-run the setup process.
- Try repositioning the repeater closer to your main router to ensure a strong signal.
- Verify that the correct Wi-Fi password for your main router was entered during setup.
- Slow Speed or Intermittent Connection:
- Relocate the repeater to a position that is halfway between your router and the area where you need coverage. Avoid placing it near large metal objects, concrete walls, or other electronic devices that may cause interference.
- Ensure the Extension LED indicates a strong signal from the main router.
- Check for firmware updates for both the repeater and your main router.
- Reduce the number of devices connected to the extended network if possible.
