Model: XC01-WR

User Instruction Manual

1. Introduction

The X-Sense XC01-WR Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detector is designed to provide early warning of carbon monoxide presence. CO is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that can be fatal. This device utilizes an advanced electrochemical sensor to detect CO levels and alert you to potential danger. Its wireless interconnection feature ensures that all linked alarms sound simultaneously, providing comprehensive coverage for your home.

This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your CO detector. Please read it thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

2. Key Features

  • Wireless Interconnection: When one XC01-WR alarm detects CO, all interconnected alarms will sound, ensuring widespread notification.
  • 10-Year Electrochemical Sensor: Equipped with a high-performance Figaro electrochemical CO sensor for stable and accurate detection over a 10-year lifespan.
  • 5-Year Replaceable Battery: Powered by a CR123A lithium battery designed to last for 5 years, providing continuous protection without frequent battery changes.
  • Digital LCD Display: Provides real-time CO concentration levels in parts per million (PPM) and displays peak CO levels since the last reset.
  • Peak Value Memory: Stores the highest CO concentration detected, allowing you to check for past CO leaks.
  • Flexible Installation: Can be wall-mounted or used as a free-standing unit, offering versatile placement options.
  • Test/Silence Button: Allows for easy testing of the alarm's functionality and silencing false alarms.
  • Full Home Coverage: Up to 24 X-Sense Link+ alarms (including smoke, CO, or combination alarms) can be interlinked for maximum safety.

3. Setup and Installation

The XC01-WR CO detector offers flexible installation options to suit your needs. Ensure the installation location is within the breathing zone of occupants, typically at head level when sleeping.

3.1. Battery Installation

  • Device Replacement: The CO alarm has a maximum lifetime of 10 years. Replace the device within 10 years of the installation date, regardless of battery status.

6. Troubleshooting

If your alarm is not functioning as expected, refer to the following general guidelines. For specific error codes or persistent issues, consult the full user manual or contact customer support.

  • Alarm Sounds: If the CO alarm sounds, immediately move to fresh air and call emergency services (Fire Department or 911). Do not re-enter the premises until it has been aired out and deemed safe by professionals.
  • Fault Indication (Yellow Light): A yellow light indicates a fault or malfunction. This could be due to a sensor error or low battery. Perform a test. If the fault persists, replace the device.
  • No Display/No Power: Ensure the battery insulating film has been removed. If already removed, check battery orientation or replace the battery.
