Video 5.1: Demonstration of the 30 inch Propane Gas Fire Pit in operation, showing ignition and flame adjustment.
- Before Lighting: Ensure the metal lid is removed and the fire glass is properly distributed around the burner. Confirm the propane tank is securely connected and the tank valve is fully open.
- Ignition: Locate the ignition control knob on the side of the table. Push the knob in and turn it counter-clockwise to the 'HIGH' position. While holding the knob in, press the electronic igniter button repeatedly until the burner ignites. You should hear a clicking sound.
- Adjust Flame: Once ignited, continue to hold the knob in for 5-10 seconds to ensure the flame is established. Release the knob. You can then rotate the knob between 'LOW' and 'HIGH' to adjust the flame height and heat output.
- To Turn Off: Turn the control knob clockwise to the 'OFF' position. Close the valve on the propane tank when the fire pit is not in use.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your fire pit table.
- Cleaning: Clean the ceramic tabletop and metal surfaces with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
- Burner Maintenance: Periodically inspect the burner and gas connections for any blockages or signs of wear. Ensure the fire glass is clean and free of debris.
- Storage: When not in use, especially during inclement weather or off-season, cover the fire pit table with a weather-resistant cover (not included) to protect it from the elements. Store the propane tank in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your fire pit, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Situation | Solution |
|---|---|
| Ignition Failure - Loose Thermocouple Connection | If the thermocouple connection to the aluminum valve interface is loose, tighten the thermocouple. |
| Ignition Failure - Bent/Broken Thermocouple Ends | Inspect both ends of the thermocouple for breakage. If damaged, replace with a new one. |
| Ignition Failure - Short Dwell Time | Continue pressing the knob for 5 to 10 seconds after turning to ensure successful ignition. |
| Ignition Failure - Loose Ignition Pin/Valve Connection | Inspect and tighten the connection between the ignition pin and the aluminum valve interface. |
| Knob Unable to Rotate | To ignite, press the knob before rotating. To adjust fire, simply turn the knob without pressing. |
| Wrong Battery Direction | Ensure the positive terminal of the battery faces outward when inserting. |
| Loose Ignition Pin/Pulse Generator Connection | Inspect and tighten the connection between the ignition pin and the pulse generator. |
| Leakage of Pressure-Reducing Valve | Inspect the connection between the pressure-reducing valve and the gas hose. Ensure proper alignment and secure tightening. |
