3. Setup

3.1 Connecting to Raspberry Pi

This display is designed for direct connection to Raspberry Pi boards. Ensure your Raspberry Pi is powered off before connecting.

  1. Connect the HDMI port of the display to the HDMI port of your Raspberry Pi using the provided HDMI connector or HDMI to Micro HDMI connector, depending on your Raspberry Pi model.
  2. Connect the power input of the display to a 5V/3A power source. For some Raspberry Pi models, the display can be powered directly from the Raspberry Pi's GPIO pins or USB port.

The display can be used as a secondary monitor for a PC. Touch functionality is generally not supported when connected to a PC without specific driver installation.

  1. Connect the HDMI port of the display to the HDMI output of your PC using an HDMI cable (purchased separately).
  2. Connect the display to a 5V/3A power source.

Note: An additional HDMI cable is required for PC connection and is not included.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

To power on the display, ensure it is connected to a stable 5V/3A power source. The display will automatically power on when power is supplied. To power off, disconnect the power source.

4.2 Touch Functionality

The 7-inch HDMI LCD features resistive touch control. This function is primarily supported when connected to a Raspberry Pi with the appropriate drivers installed.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Display:
    • Ensure the display is correctly connected to a 5V/3A power source.
    • Verify the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the display and the source device (Raspberry Pi/PC).
    • Check if the source device is powered on and outputting a video signal.
    • If using with Raspberry Pi, ensure the config.txt file is correctly configured for the display resolution.
  • Touch Not Working:
    • Ensure the touch interface (SPI) is correctly connected to your Raspberry Pi's GPIO pins.
    • Verify that the correct touch drivers are installed for your operating system on the Raspberry Pi.
    • Perform touch calibration if available in your driver software.
