4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Power On/Off and Recording

The dashcam will typically power on automatically when your motorcycle starts and begin recording. It will power off when the motorcycle is turned off. Ensure a compatible Micro SD card (up to 256GB) is inserted before recording.

4.2. 3-inch IPS Display and HUD

The 3-inch IPS display provides a clear view of live footage from both cameras. It also features a Heads-Up Display (HUD) that shows essential information such as recording status, driving speed, GPS status, altitude, air pressure, date, and time.

  • Live preview of recordings.
  • Playback and download recorded videos.
  • Adjust dashcam settings.
  • Share videos directly to social media.

4.6. G-Sensor and Electronic Gyroscope

In the event of a collision, the G-sensor will trigger, automatically locking the current video file. The electronic gyroscope detects the motorcycle's tilt angle; if it deviates from normal riding for more than 3 seconds, the video will also be locked. Locked videos are protected from loop recording overwrites, ensuring important evidence is preserved.

4.7. Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS)

The built-in EIS technology helps to minimize vibrations and bumps from the road, resulting in smoother and more stable video recordings.

4.8. Loop Recording

The dashcam continuously records video in segments. When the memory card is full, the oldest unlocked video files will be automatically overwritten by new recordings. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.

4.9. Night Vision

Equipped with Sony Starvis night vision technology and a large F/1.8 aperture, the dashcam can record clear videos even in low-light conditions or at night.

5. Maintenance

The IXROAD MD30 dashcam is designed to be waterproof. However, regular checks of all connections and seals are recommended to ensure continued protection against water ingress. Keep the camera lenses clean for optimal video quality. Periodically format the Micro SD card (via the dashcam menu or app) to maintain performance and prevent data corruption.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Dashcam not powering on: Check all power connections (ACC, GND, BAT or USB) to ensure they are secure and receiving power.
  • Memory card not recognized: Ensure the Micro SD card is inserted correctly. Try formatting the card using the dashcam's menu or the "RoadCam" app. If the issue persists, try a different compatible Micro SD card.
  • Poor video quality: Clean the camera lenses. Ensure the resolution settings are appropriate for your needs. Check if EIS is enabled for smoother footage.
  • GPS not tracking: Ensure the GPS module is properly connected and has a clear view of the sky. Allow some time for the GPS to acquire a signal.
  • Wi-Fi connection issues: Ensure the "RoadCam" app is updated to the latest version. Restart both the dashcam and your smartphone/tablet.
