Setup Guide
1. Installing Batteries
The VITAL Bluetooth Keyboard comes with batteries included. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity as indicated inside the compartment. Close the compartment securely.
2. Powering On
Locate the power switch on the keyboard, usually on the top or side. Slide the switch to the "ON" position. An indicator light may briefly illuminate.
3. Pairing with a Device
The VITAL Bluetooth Keyboard can connect to up to three devices simultaneously. Follow these steps to pair with your first device:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device (e.g., computer, tablet, smartphone).
- On the VITAL keyboard, press and hold one of the Bluetooth channel keys (e.g., BT1, BT2, or BT3) for 3-5 seconds until the corresponding indicator light above the key starts blinking rapidly. This indicates the keyboard is in pairing mode.
- On your device, go to Bluetooth settings and search for available devices.
- Select "VITAL Keyboard" or a similar name from the list of found devices.
- If prompted, enter the pairing code displayed on your device's screen using the VITAL keyboard, then press Enter.
- Once paired, the indicator light on the keyboard will stop blinking and remain solid for a few seconds, then turn off. Your keyboard is now connected.
4. Connecting Additional Devices
To connect a second or third device, repeat step 3, but use a different Bluetooth channel key (BT2 or BT3) for pairing.
Operating Instructions
Switching Between Devices
To switch between connected devices, simply press the corresponding Bluetooth channel key (BT1, BT2, or BT3) once. The keyboard will automatically connect to the previously paired device on that channel.
Multimedia Keys
The VITAL Bluetooth Keyboard features dedicated multimedia keys for convenient control of audio and video playback, volume, and other functions. These keys are typically located in the function key row (F1-F12) and may require pressing the Fn key simultaneously for activation, depending on your operating system and keyboard settings.
Fn Key Compatibility
Note: Function [Fn] keys are not compatible with Mac OS X.
Power Saving Mode
The keyboard is designed with power-saving features to minimize battery waste. If inactive for a period, it will enter a sleep mode. To wake it up, simply press any key. It will automatically reconnect to the last active device.
