4. Setup

  1. Choose a Location: Place the charging dock on a hard, level surface against a wall. Ensure there is at least 1.5 feet (0.5 meters) of clear space on either side of the dock and 4 feet (1.2 meters) in front of it. Avoid placing it near stairs or heat sources.
  2. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the back of the charging dock, then plug the other end into a standard wall outlet. The indicator light on the dock should illuminate, confirming power.
  3. Cable Management: Route any excess power cord neatly to prevent entanglement with the Roomba or other objects. The dock features integrated cable management channels on the back.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the charging dock is set up and powered, your iRobot Roomba J Series robot vacuum will automatically return to it to recharge its battery when needed. Ensure the Roomba's charging contacts align with the dock's contacts for proper charging.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures efficient charging and extends the life of your dock.

  1. Cleaning Charging Contacts: Periodically wipe the metal charging contacts on the dock with a clean, dry cloth. Ensure the dock is unplugged before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or liquids.
  2. General Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the charging dock with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust.
