4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal cooling performance. Follow these general steps for setting up your MSI MAG CoreLiquid 240R V2. Refer to your motherboard and PC case manuals for specific mounting locations and clearances.

1. Prepare CPU and Motherboard: Ensure your CPU is properly seated in its socket. Clean the CPU surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue.
2. Attach Correct Mounting Bracket: Select the appropriate mounting bracket for your CPU socket (Intel or AMD). Securely attach it to the pump block according to the instructions provided in the cooler's quick installation guide.

5. Install Radiator and Fans: Attach the two 120mm ARGB fans to the radiator using the long screws provided. Ensure the fan airflow direction is optimized for your case (typically intake or exhaust). Mount the assembled radiator and fans to your PC case. Common mounting locations include the top or front of the case, depending on available space.
6. Connect Cables:
   • Connect the pump's 3-pin power cable to the dedicated AIO_PUMP or CPU_OPT header on your motherboard.
   • Connect the 120mm ARGB fans' 4-pin PWM cables to the CPU_FAN header or other available fan headers on your motherboard, using the included fan splitter cable if necessary.
   • Connect the ARGB lighting cables from the pump block and fans to your motherboard's 3-pin 5V ARGB header. Ensure correct pin alignment to avoid damage.
7. Cable Management: Route all cables neatly behind the motherboard tray or along the case's cable management channels to ensure proper airflow and a clean build.

• Pump Noise: If you notice unusual pump noises, ensure the pump is positioned lower than the highest point of the radiator to prevent air bubbles from accumulating in the pump.
