4. Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the iron and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.
2. First Use: Before first use, it is recommended to iron an old piece of fabric to remove any manufacturing residues from the soleplate. A slight odor or smoke may occur during the first few minutes of use; this is normal and will disappear.
3. Filling the Water Tank:
   • Ensure the iron is unplugged.
   • Open the water filling inlet.
   • Fill the water tank with tap water up to the 'MAX' indication. For areas with very hard water, it is advisable to use a mixture of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water. Do not use perfumed water, water from tumble dryers, or chemically descaled water, as these may damage the iron.
   • Close the water filling inlet securely.

5. Operating Instructions

1. Connecting to Power: Plug the iron into a grounded wall socket.
2. Setting Temperature: Turn the temperature dial to the desired setting according to the fabric type. The indicator light will illuminate, indicating the iron is heating up. It will turn off when the set temperature is reached.
3. Steam Ironing:
   • Ensure the water tank is filled.
   • Set the temperature to the steam position (usually indicated by three dots or a steam symbol). Steam is only generated at higher temperatures.
   • Adjust the steam output using the steam selector switch.
4. Dry Ironing: For dry ironing, ensure the steam selector is set to the 'no steam' position and the water tank is empty or the iron is used without water.
5. Steam Boost: For stubborn creases, press the steam boost button. This provides an extra burst of steam. Wait a few seconds between bursts to allow the iron to reheat.
6. Vertical Steam: Hold the iron vertically, about 10-20 cm away from the garment. Press the steam boost button to remove wrinkles from hanging clothes, curtains, etc.
7. After Use: Unplug the iron and allow it to cool down completely before storing. Empty any remaining water from the tank.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

• Cleaning the Soleplate:
  • Allow the iron to cool down completely.
  • Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner if necessary. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or harsh cleaners as they can damage the soleplate.
• Calc-Clean Function (Descaling):
  • Regularly use the integrated Calc-Clean slider to remove limescale buildup, especially in hard water areas.
  • Fill the water tank to MAX.
  • Set the steam selector to 'no steam' and the temperature dial to MAX.
  • Plug in the iron and wait for the indicator light to go out.
  • Unplug the iron. Hold it over a sink, and activate the Calc-Clean slider. Hot water and steam will be expelled, carrying limescale particles.
  • Shake the iron gently until the water tank is empty.
  • Plug in the iron again and let it heat up to dry the soleplate.
  • Repeat if necessary.
• Storing the Iron: Store the iron upright on its heel rest, with the cord neatly wrapped, in a dry and safe place.
