4. Setup Instructions

  1. Locate the Sustain Pedal Input: Identify the 1/4 inch sustain pedal input jack on the back or side of your electronic keyboard or digital piano. This port is typically labeled "Sustain" or "Damper."
  2. Connect the Pedal: Insert the 1/4 inch jack cable from the WEGROWER WP-01 pedal firmly into the sustain pedal input of your instrument.
  3. Position the Pedal: Place the pedal on the floor in a comfortable position for your foot. The anti-slip rubber bottom will help keep it stable.
  4. Adjust Polarity (if necessary): The pedal features a polarity switch (labeled N.O./N.C. or similar) on its side. If the sustain function operates in reverse (e.g., notes sustain when the pedal is released and stop when pressed), flip this switch to the opposite position. Test the pedal to ensure correct operation.

5. Operating Instructions

Once connected and the polarity is correctly set, operating the WEGROWER WP-01 Sustain Pedal is straightforward:

  • To Sustain Notes: Press down on the pedal with your foot while playing notes on your keyboard. The notes will continue to sound even after you lift your fingers from the keys, creating a richer, fuller sound.
  • To Release Sustain: Lift your foot from the pedal. The sustained notes will then cease.

The pedal's design ensures a responsive and comfortable feel, similar to an acoustic piano's sustain pedal.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your WEGROWER WP-01 Sustain Pedal, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the pedal surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the pedal in a clean, dry environment away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
  • Cable Care: Avoid kinking or sharply bending the cable. Store it loosely coiled to prevent damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your sustain pedal, consider the following common solutions:

  • No Sustain or Reverse Sustain: The most common issue is incorrect polarity. Locate the polarity switch on the side of the pedal and flip it to the opposite position. Test the pedal again.
  • Intermittent Sustain: Ensure the 1/4 inch jack is fully and securely inserted into your instrument's sustain input. Check the cable for any visible damage or kinks.
  • Pedal Not Responding: Verify that your keyboard or digital piano is powered on and functioning correctly. If possible, test the pedal with another compatible instrument to rule out an issue with the pedal itself.
