Introduction

Thank you for choosing the PETODAY Automatic Pet Feeder. This device is designed to simplify your pet care routine by automatically dispensing dry food at scheduled times. It features a 4-liter capacity, a 10-second voice recorder, and dual power supply options to ensure your pet is fed consistently, even during power outages. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to help you get the most out of your new feeder.

Components

Before you begin, please ensure all components are present and in good condition:

  • PETODAY Automatic Pet Feeder Unit (Main body with food tank and control panel)
  • Stainless Steel Food Bowl
  • Food Bowl Holder
  • 5V DC Power Adapter
  • Desiccant Bag (pre-installed or separate)
  • Instruction Manual (this document)

Note: 3 alkaline D-cell batteries are required for backup power and are NOT INCLUDED.

Setup

  1. Unpack and Assemble: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Place the food bowl holder on a flat, stable surface, then insert the stainless steel bowl into the holder.
  2. Install Desiccant Bag: Locate the desiccant bag compartment, usually under the lid. Ensure the desiccant bag is properly placed to keep food fresh.

  3. Add Dry Food: Open the top lid of the feeder and pour dry pet food into the food tank. Ensure the kibble size is smaller than 0.47 inches (1.2 cm) to prevent jamming. Close the lid securely using the lock catches.

  4. Power Connection:
    • AC Power: Plug the 5V DC power adapter into the feeder's power port and then into a standard wall outlet.
    • Battery Backup: For uninterrupted operation during power outages, install 3 alkaline D-cell batteries into the battery compartment at the bottom of the feeder.

Operating Instructions

The PETODAY Automatic Pet Feeder features an intuitive LCD control panel for easy programming.

Setting Current Time

  1. Press and hold the "SET" button for 3 seconds until the clock icon flashes.
  2. Use the "Up" and "Down" arrows to adjust the hour. Press "SET" to confirm.
  3. Adjust the minutes using the "Up" and "Down" arrows. Press "SET" to confirm.

Programming Meal Times and Portions

You can set up to 4 meals per day, with up to 9 portions per meal (approximately 1 oz per 4 portions).

  1. Press the "SET" button once to enter Meal 1 setting. The "Meal 1" icon will flash.
  2. Use the "Up" and "Down" arrows to set the feeding time for Meal 1. Press "SET" to confirm.
  3. The "Portion" icon will flash. Use the "Up" and "Down" arrows to set the number of portions for Meal 1 (1-9). Press "SET" to confirm.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 for Meal 2, Meal 3, and Meal 4 if desired. If a meal is not set, it will be skipped.
  5. After setting all desired meals, press "SET" repeatedly until the display returns to the current time.

Voice Recording

Record a 10-second message to call your pet at feeding times.

  1. Press and hold the "Record" button (microphone icon) until you hear a beep.
  2. Speak your message clearly into the microphone. The recording will automatically stop after 10 seconds or when you release the button.
  3. To play back your recording, press the "Play" button (speaker icon).
  4. The recorded message will play automatically before each scheduled meal.

Manual Feeding

To dispense food manually, press and hold the "Unlock" button (lock icon) for 3 seconds, then press the "FEED" button. One portion will be dispensed each time the "FEED" button is pressed.

Automatic Button Lock

The feeder's buttons will automatically lock after 30 seconds of inactivity to prevent accidental changes by pets or children. To unlock, press and hold the "Unlock" button for 3 seconds.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures hygiene and extends the life of your feeder.

  1. Disassembly: Unplug the feeder and remove any remaining food. Detach the food tank, food bowl, and stainless steel bowl.
  2. Cleaning:
    • The stainless steel bowl and food bowl holder can be washed with soap and water.
    • The food tank can be hand-washed. Ensure it is completely dry before reassembling.
    • The main unit (with the control panel) should not be submerged in water. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
  3. Reassembly: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling. Place the desiccant bag back in its compartment.
  4. Desiccant Bag Replacement: Replace the desiccant bag every 2-4 weeks, or as needed, to maintain food freshness.

Troubleshooting

  • Press and hold the "Unlock" button for 3 seconds to unlock the control panel.
Food not staying fresh.
  • Desiccant bag needs replacement.
  • Lid not sealed properly.
  • Replace the desiccant bag.
  • Ensure the lid is securely closed using the lock catches.
