1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions

4. Assembly and Setup

Follow these steps to assemble and set up your OCTO Classic 110-EXT protein skimmer:

5. Operating Instructions

Water Level Adjustment: Use the precision gate valve to raise or lower the internal water level within the skimmer body.
- For Wet Skimmate: Raise the water level higher into the neck of the collection cup. This will produce a lighter, more watery skimmate.
- For Dry Skimmate: Lower the water level further down in the skimmer neck. This will produce a darker, thicker skimmate.
Recommendation: Start with the water level just below the collection cup neck and adjust gradually over several hours or days until the desired skimmate consistency is achieved. A good starting point is to have the foam head break just at the base of the collection cup neck.
Monitoring Performance: Regularly check the collection cup for skimmate accumulation. The color and consistency of the skimmate indicate the amount of organic waste being removed. Darker, thicker skimmate indicates efficient removal.
Environmental Factors: Factors such as water changes, dosing, feeding, and adding new livestock can affect skimmer performance. Minor adjustments may be necessary.

Collection Cup Cleaning (Weekly/Bi-weekly):
1. Turn off the skimmer pump.

3. Empty the skimmate and thoroughly clean the inside of the collection cup and neck with warm water and a brush. Avoid using soap or detergents.
