Maintenance and Replacement Guide
For optimal performance, it is recommended to change the spare parts every 3 months, or more frequently depending on usage and household conditions (e.g., presence of pets).
1. Clean Base Maintenance
The clean base is responsible for emptying the robot vacuum's dustbin and filtering the collected debris. Regular cleaning and filter replacement are essential.
- Empty the Dust Bin: Remove the dust bin from the clean base and empty its contents.
- Remove Filters: Locate and remove the HEPA Filter and Foam Sponge from the clean base. These are typically found within the dust bin compartment or a dedicated filter slot.
- Clean the Base Interior: Use compressed air or a dry cloth to thoroughly clean any dust or debris from the interior of the clean base, especially around the suction port.
- Install New Filters: Insert the new HEPA Filter and Foam Sponge into their respective slots. Ensure they are seated correctly.

2. Robot Vacuum Maintenance
Regular inspection and replacement of the robot vacuum's brushes and filters are vital for effective cleaning and preventing performance issues.
- Remove Main Roller Brush and Cover: Turn the robot vacuum upside down. Unlatch and remove the roller brush cover, then lift out the old self-clean roller brush.
- Replace Main Roller Brush and Cover: Insert the new self-clean roller brush, ensuring it clicks into place. Reattach the new roller brush cover.
- Replace Side/Sweep Brushes: Gently pull off the old side/sweep brushes. Align the new brushes with the posts and push them firmly until they snap into place.
- Replace Primary Filter: Open the robot vacuum's dustbin (located on the robot itself). Remove the old primary filter and insert the new one.
- Clean Interior Compartments: Use compressed air or a small brush to clean any hair or debris from the brush compartments, wheel axles, and dustbin area before installing new parts.

Troubleshooting
If your Shark IQ robot vacuum experiences reduced suction, makes unusual noises, or displays error messages (e.g., "Error Number 2" indicating an obstruction), it is often due to clogged or worn parts. Follow the maintenance steps above to resolve these issues.
- Reduced Suction: Check and replace all filters (Primary, HEPA, Clean Base filters). Ensure no debris is blocking the suction path.
- Brushes Not Spinning/Unusual Noise: Inspect the main roller brush and side/sweep brushes for tangled hair or debris. Replace them if they are worn or damaged. Ensure the roller brush cover is securely latched.
- General Performance Issues: A complete replacement of all included parts (brushes, filters) can often restore the vacuum to optimal "like new" performance.
