Setup Instructions

1. Planning Your New Zone

The expansion kit allows you to create additional mowing zones for your Landroid. This is particularly useful for yards with natural barriers, landscaping, or driveways that divide the mowing area. Plan the layout of your new zone, considering the placement of the second charging station and the path of the boundary wire.

2. Installing the Second Charging Station

Select a suitable location for the new charging station within the planned zone. Ensure it has access to a power outlet. The charging station should be placed on a flat, level surface. Secure it using the provided nails if necessary.

3. Laying the Boundary Wire

Use the 426 ft. of boundary wire to define the perimeter of your new mowing zone. Lay the wire around the edges of the area, securing it to the ground with the provided pegs. Ensure the wire is taut and free of kinks. The wire creates an invisible barrier that the Landroid will not cross.

Operating Instructions

Once the second charging station and boundary wire are installed, your Landroid can operate in the new zone. To move your Landroid between zones:

  1. Power off the Landroid.
  2. Carefully pick up the Landroid and transport it to the new zone.
  3. Place the Landroid within the boundary of the new zone, near its dedicated charging station.
  4. Power on the Landroid. It will detect the new boundary and charging station.

This allows you to manage different sections of your property independently, especially if they are separated by unpassable barriers.

Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Landroid Charging Station Expansion Kit, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Boundary Wire Inspection: Periodically check the boundary wire for any damage, cuts, or disconnections. Repair any damaged sections promptly to maintain the integrity of the mowing zone.
  • Pegs and Nails: Ensure all pegs and nails securing the boundary wire and charging station are firmly in place. Re-secure or replace any loose or missing fasteners.
  • Charging Station Cleanliness: Keep the charging station clean and free from debris, grass clippings, and dirt. This ensures proper contact between the Landroid and the charging terminals.
  • Genuine Accessories: Always use genuine WORX Landroid accessories for replacements or additional components. Non-genuine parts may compromise performance and void your warranty.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Landroid Charging Station Expansion Kit, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Landroid Not Recognizing New Zone/Boundary

  • Check Wire Connection: Ensure the boundary wire is securely connected to the charging station.
  • Inspect Wire for Breaks: A break in the boundary wire will prevent the Landroid from detecting the perimeter. Visually inspect the entire length of the wire for any cuts or damage.
  • Power Supply: Verify that the charging station's power supply is correctly plugged into a working electrical outlet and that the power indicator light (if present) is on.

Charging Station Not Powering On

  • Power Outlet: Test the electrical outlet with another device to ensure it is functional.
  • Charger Connection: Confirm that the charger is properly connected to both the charging station and the power outlet.
  • Voltage Compatibility: Ensure the charger's voltage and frequency (e.g., 110V 60Hz for US) are compatible with your local electrical supply. Using an incompatible power supply (e.g., a US charger in a UK 240V 50Hz system) will prevent operation and may cause damage.

Landroid Not Charging at New Station

  • Clean Contacts: Ensure the charging contacts on both the Landroid and the charging station are clean and free of debris.
  • Proper Docking: Verify that the Landroid is docking correctly with the charging station. Adjust the station's position if necessary.
