This instruction manual provides detailed guidance for the installation and maintenance of the ZXMT Vivid Black Motorcycle Fairing Kit, designed specifically for the Suzuki GSXR 1000 K5 models from 2005 to 2006. This aftermarket fairing kit is manufactured from high-quality ABS plastic, known for its elasticity and heat tolerance, ensuring durability and a precise fit.

2. Setup & Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your fairing kit. This kit is designed for direct replacement and features pre-drilled holes for ease of installation. It is recommended to have basic mechanical knowledge or seek professional assistance if unsure.
2.1. Pre-Installation Checklist
- Ensure your motorcycle model is a Suzuki GSXR 1000 K5 (2005-2006).
- Unpack all fairing components and verify all 25 pieces, heat shield, and windscreen are present and undamaged.
- Gather necessary tools: screwdriver set, socket wrench set, plastic trim removal tools (optional), clean cloths.
- Prepare a clean, well-lit workspace.
2.2. Removal of Existing Fairings
- Carefully remove all bolts, screws, and clips securing the existing fairing panels. Note the location of each fastener.
- Gently detach each fairing piece, ensuring no wires or hoses are snagged.
- Inspect the underlying frame and components for any damage or debris. Clean as necessary.
2.3. Installation of New Fairings
The new fairing kit is manufactured using an injection molding process for precise fitment. Follow these steps for installation:
- Begin by installing the main fairing pieces, aligning the pre-drilled holes with the mounting points on the motorcycle frame.
- Secure each piece loosely with the appropriate fasteners. Important Note: While the kit includes fasteners, some users have reported issues with the provided bolts. It is highly recommended to use your original OEM bolts if they are in good condition, or acquire high-quality aftermarket bolts for optimal security and durability.
- Install the heat shield onto the inner side of the fairing panels that are in close proximity to the engine or exhaust, as indicated by the manufacturer. This special heat shield protection is designed to protect the fairing against heat emitted from the motorcycle's engine.
- Attach the windscreen to the front fairing using the designated mounting points.
- Proceed with installing the remaining fairing components, such as the front fender and rear seat cowl, ensuring proper alignment and secure fastening.
- Once all pieces are in place, gradually tighten all fasteners, working from the center outwards, ensuring an even and snug fit. Avoid over-tightening to prevent damage to the plastic.
- Perform a final visual inspection to ensure all panels are correctly aligned and securely fastened.

3. Maintenance
To maintain the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of your ZXMT fairing kit, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the fairings with a mild automotive soap and soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the UV protective clear coat. Rinse thoroughly with water.
- Protection: The fairings feature a multi-layer UV protective clear coat. To further protect against sun exposure and environmental elements, consider applying a high-quality automotive wax or sealant periodically.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect all fairing panels for any signs of damage, cracks, or loose fasteners. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage.
- Chemical Exposure: While the clear coat offers protection against fuel and oil, it is advisable to wipe off any spills immediately to prevent potential long-term damage.
4. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues that may arise during or after installation.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fairing panels do not align perfectly or have small gaps. | Minor manufacturing variations; incorrect initial alignment; fasteners not tightened evenly. | Loosen all fasteners slightly, adjust the panel position, and then re-tighten evenly. Ensure all tabs are properly engaged. |
| Provided bolts strip easily or break. | Soft material of included bolts; over-tightening. | Use original OEM bolts if available and in good condition. Alternatively, purchase higher quality aftermarket stainless steel bolts. Avoid over-tightening. |
| Paint appears dull or damaged over time. | Lack of proper cleaning/protection; exposure to harsh chemicals or extreme UV. | Regularly clean with mild soap and water. Apply automotive wax or sealant. Avoid harsh chemicals. |
