1. Introduction

The Heswea Electronic Acupuncture Pen is a modern device designed for needleless acupuncture and meridian point detection. It combines traditional Chinese medicine principles with advanced electronic technology to provide a safe and convenient way to stimulate acupuncture points, improve blood circulation, and relieve various physical discomforts. This manual provides comprehensive instructions for its safe and effective use.

2. Safety Information

Important: Please read all safety warnings and directions before using this product. Failure to do so may result in injury or device malfunction.

• Not suitable for pregnant individuals.
• It should not be used simultaneously with in vivo implantable electronic devices, artificial heart or lung, or other electronic medical apparatus and instruments.
• Pregnant women and women with menstruation, people with skin abnormalities, patients with acute high fever and others are prohibited from using it.
• Children or persons without the ability to express consciousness should not use it.
• Critical and emergency patients such as tumor patients are prohibited from using it.

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Device

The Meridian Pen is wireless and rechargeable. Before first use, ensure the device is fully charged.

• Connect the USB charging cable to the charging port on the side of the pen.
• Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB charging head or a computer's USB port.
• The power light will indicate charging status. It turns from green (charging) to off (fully charged).

4.2 Attaching Massage Heads

The pen comes with three replaceable massage heads for different applications:

• Dome type massage head: Mostly used for facial massage.
• 5mm Ball massage head: Mostly used for body massage.
• 3mm Ball massage head: Mostly used for smaller parts of the body, such as ears.

To attach a head, simply screw it onto the tip of the pen until secure.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for effective use of the Electronic Acupuncture Pen:

1. Prepare the Skin: If the skin is dry, the device may not work effectively. Apply some gel, cream, or lotion to the skin before use to improve conductivity.
2. Adjust Settings:
   • Hz knob (Frequency): Turn the 'Hz' knob to the desired value.
   • SEN knob (Sensitivity): Start with 'SEN' at '2'. If there is no beep and the light does not flash, gradually increase the 'SEN' setting until you hear a continuous beep sound and the light is flashing (approximately 2 beeps per second is ideal). Setting sensitivity too high may result in inaccurate detection.
   • ON/OFF/INT knob (Intensity): Start at intensity level '1' (weakest) and gradually adjust the intensity level as needed. The higher the 'INT' setting, the stronger the pulse sensation.

3. Hold the Pen Correctly: Hold the pen like a writing pen. Ensure your thumb is in contact with the metal conductive sheet on the side of the pen. If using the current conducting rod, hold the rod in your other hand to complete the circuit.
4. Find Acupoints Automatically: Slowly slide the acupuncture pen along the skin. When the device detects an acupoint, the warning light will flash and a beeping sound will become more urgent. The larger the value on the LCD display, the closer you are to the acupoint.
5. Apply Pulse Massage: Once an acupoint is located, press the pulse key to deliver the massage. The pen stimulates acupuncture points through bioelectricity, reaching muscles and relieving pain.

7. Maintenance

• Clean the device regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not immerse the device in water or any other liquids.
• Store the pen in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Ensure the device is fully charged before long-term storage to maintain battery health.

8. Troubleshooting

• Device not working/no sensation:
  • Ensure the skin is not dry. Apply gel or lotion to improve conductivity.
  • Check the battery level and recharge if necessary.
  • Adjust the 'SEN' (Sensitivity) knob to a higher setting until the light flashes and a beep is heard.
  • Ensure your thumb is in contact with the metal conductive sheet or the current conducting rod is held correctly.
• Inconsistent stimulation:
  • Ensure consistent contact with the skin.
  • Adjust sensitivity and intensity settings as per your skin's condition and desired effect.
