5. Setup and Installation
5.1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the handset.
- Slide the cover downwards to open it.
- Insert the supplied rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover, sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.
5.2. Connecting the Base Station
- Place the base station on a flat, stable surface, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
- Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the LINE port on the base station.
- Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to your telephone wall socket.
- Plug the small end of the power adapter into the DC IN port on the base station.
- Plug the large end of the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
5.3. Charging the Handset
Once the base station is powered, place the handset onto the base station's charging cradle. The display should indicate that it is charging. For optimal battery performance, charge the handset for at least 12-15 hours before its first use, even if the display shows a full charge.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Making a Call
- Pick up the handset from the base or press the Green Call button.
- Dial the desired phone number using the numeric keypad.
- Press the Green Call button again to initiate the call.
- To end the call, press the Red End Call button or place the handset back on the base.
6.2. Answering a Call
When the phone rings, press the Green Call button to answer the call.
6.3. Using the Phonebook
The phonebook can store up to 50 entries. Refer to the on-screen menu for adding, editing, and deleting contacts. To dial from the phonebook, press the Phonebook button (usually indicated by a book icon), navigate to the desired contact, and press the Green Call button.
6.4. Caller ID
If you subscribe to Caller ID service from your telephone provider, the caller's number (and name, if available) will be displayed on the handset screen before you answer. You can review past calls in the Call Log (memory for 30 calls).
6.5. Redial and Mute Functions
- Redial: Press the RD/P button to view the last dialed numbers. Select a number and press the Green Call button to redial.
- Mute: During a call, press the MUTE button to temporarily turn off your microphone. The other party will not hear you. Press it again to unmute.
