3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Battery Installation

The bike computer and wireless transmitter require batteries (typically CR2032 coin cells). Open the battery compartment on the back of each unit, insert the battery with the positive (+) side facing up, and close the compartment securely.

3.2 Mounting the Computer and Sensor

  1. Mount the Computer: Attach the bike computer mounting bracket to your bicycle's handlebar or stem using the provided cable ties. Ensure it is securely fastened and positioned for easy viewing.
  2. Mount the Wireless Transmitter (Sensor): Attach the wireless transmitter to the front fork of your bicycle. Position it so that the sensor's detection area aligns with the wheel spoke where the magnet will be attached.
  3. Attach the Magnet: Securely attach the magnet to a spoke on your front wheel.
  4. Adjust Distances:
    • The distance between the magnet and the wireless transmitter should be less than 3mm.
    • The distance between the bike computer and the wireless transmitter should be less than 60cm.

3.3 Initial Settings

After installation, you will need to configure the bike computer. Use the two buttons (typically 'M' for Mode and 'S' for Set) to navigate and adjust settings.

  1. Language Selection: The device supports 5 languages (English, Spanish, German, French, Dutch). Select your preferred language.

  2. Unit Setting: Choose between kilometers per hour (km/h) or miles per hour (mph) for speed and distance measurements.
  3. Wheel Circumference: This is a critical setting for accurate speed and distance readings.
    • Measure your wheel's circumference in millimeters (mm). You can use a tape measure or refer to a tire size chart.
    • Input this value into the computer. The manual provides a size guide and procedure for inputting the number.

  4. Clock Setting: Set the current time.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Operation

The bike computer typically operates with two buttons: 'M' (Mode) and 'S' (Set/Select).

  • Mode Button ('M'): Press to cycle through different display modes (e.g., current speed, average speed, max speed, riding time, distance, total distance, temperature, clock).
  • Set Button ('S'): Press to confirm selections during setup or to reset certain values (e.g., trip distance) when held down in specific modes.

4.2 Automatic Wake-up and Hibernation

The bike computer features an automatic wake-up function. When it detects bicycle movement, it will automatically turn on and begin recording data. After a period of inactivity, it will enter hibernation mode to conserve battery power.

4.3 Backlight Function

The LCD display features a backlight for improved visibility in low-light conditions. This backlight can be activated manually or may turn on automatically in night mode, depending on the model and settings.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Water Exposure: While the device has an IP54 rating, it is not recommended to submerge it or expose it to heavy rain for extended periods (exceeding 10 minutes). After rain or water exposure, please remove the battery and dry the unit thoroughly to prevent circuit damage.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or erratic. Ensure correct polarity when inserting new batteries.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and store the unit in a cool, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting
