Setup and Initial Use

Package Contents:

Before assembly, ensure all components are present:

• (1) BHFEA520J Stick Vacuum
• (1) Wall Mount
• (1) Jack Plug Charger
• (1) Crevice Tool

Assembly:

1. Connect the main vacuum body to the extension wand until it clicks securely into place.
2. Attach the floorhead to the bottom of the extension wand, ensuring a firm connection.

Charging the Battery:

Before first use, fully charge the vacuum's battery. The battery is integrated into the main unit.

1. Locate the charging port on the handle of the vacuum.
2. Plug the jack plug charger into the charging port.
3. Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet.
4. The battery indicator lights will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged. A full charge takes approximately 44 minutes.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off and Speed Control:

1. To turn on the vacuum, press the power button located on the handle (Figure 3, C). The LED floorhead lights will illuminate.
2. To switch between low and high suction modes, press the power button again while the vacuum is running.
3. To turn off the vacuum, press the power button a third time.

The AUTOSENSE technology will automatically adjust suction power based on the floor type (carpet or hardwood) for optimal cleaning and battery life.

Using as a Stick Vacuum:

For general floor cleaning, use the vacuum in its upright stick configuration. The lightweight design and lay-flat maneuverability allow for easy cleaning under furniture.

Using as a Handheld Vacuum:

1. Press the release button located near the top of the extension wand (Figure 3, D).
2. Detach the main vacuum body from the wand.
3. Attach the crevice tool directly to the handheld unit for cleaning stairs, furniture, or hard-to-reach areas.

Self-Standing Feature:

The vacuum is designed to stand upright on its own for convenient storage and pauses during cleaning. Ensure the handle is in the fully upright position until it clicks into place.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum cleaner.

Emptying the Dustbowl:

Empty the dustbowl regularly to maintain suction power.

1. Press the dustbowl release button (Figure 3, E) and pull the dustbowl away from the handheld unit (Figure 3, F).
2. Hold the dustbowl over a trash can.
3. Press the dustbowl empty button to open the flap and release debris (Figure 3, H).
4. Close the flap and reattach the dustbowl to the handheld unit until it clicks.

Cleaning the Filter:

The cyclonic filtration system helps keep your filter clean, but periodic cleaning is recommended.

1. Remove the dustbowl as described above.
2. Twist and pull the filter assembly out of the dustbowl (Figure 3, G).
3. Separate the pre-filter from the main filter (Figure 3, I).
4. Tap both filters over a trash can to remove loose dirt. For a deeper clean, rinse them under running water. Ensure they are completely dry before reassembly.
5. Reassemble the filters and place them back into the dustbowl.

Cleaning the Anti-Tangle Brush Bar:

The anti-tangle brush bar is designed for easy hair pick-up and removal.

1. To access the brush bar, locate the release tabs on the floorhead (Figure 8, J).
2. Press the tabs and remove the brush bar cover.
3. Lift out the brush bar (Figure 8, K).
4. Remove any tangled hair or debris from the brush bar.
5. Reinsert the brush bar and secure the cover until it clicks into place.
