4. Setup
4.1. Battery Installation
The multimeter requires 2 AAA batteries (included). To install or replace batteries:
- Ensure the multimeter is turned OFF and disconnect all test leads from the circuit and the meter.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
- Unscrew the retaining screw(s) and remove the cover.
- Insert the 2 AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw(s).
4.2. Connecting Test Leads
Always connect the black test lead to the 'COM' (Common) input jack. Connect the red test lead to the appropriate input jack based on the desired measurement:
- For Voltage, Resistance, Diode, Continuity, Capacitance, and Frequency measurements, connect the red lead to the 'VΩmAHz' jack.
- For Current measurements up to 10A, connect the red lead to the '10A' jack.
- For Current measurements in milliampere (mA) or microampere (µA) ranges, connect the red lead to the 'mAµA' jack.
5. Operating Instructions
Turn the rotary switch to the desired function. The multimeter features auto-ranging, simplifying operation.
5.1. AC/DC Voltage Measurement
To measure AC or DC voltage up to 600V:
- Set the rotary switch to the 'V' position (AC or DC, the meter will auto-detect or use the SELECT button to switch).
- Connect the black test lead to the 'COM' jack and the red test lead to the 'VΩmAHz' jack.
- Touch the test probes to the points of the circuit where you want to measure voltage.
- Read the voltage value on the LCD display.
5.2. AC/DC Current Measurement
To measure AC or DC current up to 10A:
- Set the rotary switch to the 'A' position (AC or DC, the meter will auto-detect or use the SELECT button to switch). For mA/µA, select the corresponding range.
- Connect the black test lead to the 'COM' jack. For current up to 10A, connect the red test lead to the '10A' jack. For mA/µA, connect the red test lead to the 'mAµA' jack.
- Open the circuit where you want to measure current and connect the multimeter in series with the circuit.
- Read the current value on the LCD display.
5.3. Resistance Measurement
To measure resistance up to 99.99MΩ:
- Set the rotary switch to the 'Ω' position.
- Connect the black test lead to the 'COM' jack and the red test lead to the 'VΩmAHz' jack.
- Ensure the circuit is de-energized before measuring resistance.
- Touch the test probes across the component or circuit where you want to measure resistance.
- Read the resistance value on the LCD display.
5.4. Capacitance, Frequency, and Duty Cycle Measurement
To measure capacitance, frequency, or duty cycle:
- Set the rotary switch to the 'Capacitance', 'Hz', or '%' position. Use the 'SEL' button to cycle through functions if they share a switch position.
- Connect the black test lead to the 'COM' jack and the red test lead to the 'VΩmAHz' jack.
- For capacitance, ensure the capacitor is discharged before measurement.
- Touch the test probes to the component or circuit.
- Read the value on the LCD display.
5.5. Diode and Continuity Test
To perform diode or continuity tests:
- Set the rotary switch to the 'Diode/Continuity' position. Use the 'SEL' button to switch between functions.
- Connect the black test lead to the 'COM' jack and the red test lead to the 'VΩmAHz' jack.
- For diode test, place the red probe on the anode and the black probe on the cathode. The forward voltage drop will be displayed. Reverse the probes to check for open circuit.
- For continuity test, touch the probes to the two points of the circuit. A continuous beep indicates continuity (low resistance).
5.6. Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) and Live Function
The NCV and Live functions provide a safe way to detect the presence of AC voltage without direct contact.
- NCV: Set the rotary switch to 'NCV'. Move the top of the multimeter near a live conductor. The meter will indicate the presence of AC voltage with an audible alarm and flashing red indicator light.
- Live Function: Set the rotary switch to 'Live'. Connect the red test lead to the 'VΩmAHz' jack and touch the probe to the live wire. The screen will change to red, and an alarm will sound if a live wire is detected.

5.7. Flashlight and Backlight
The multimeter includes a built-in LED flashlight and an LCD backlight for improved visibility in dimly lit environments.
- Press the backlight button to turn the LCD backlight ON/OFF.
- Press the flashlight button to turn the LED flashlight ON/OFF.

6. Maintenance
6.1. General Care
- Keep the multimeter dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
- Use and store the multimeter in normal temperature environments. Extreme temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices.
- Handle the multimeter gently and carefully. Dropping it can damage circuit boards and cases.
- Keep the multimeter away from dust and dirt, which can cause premature wear of parts.
- Wipe the multimeter with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or strong detergents.
6.2. Fuse Replacement
If the current measurement function stops working, the fuse may need replacement. Refer to the battery installation section for opening the compartment. Replace fuses with the specified ratings only (e.g., 10A and 600mA fuses as indicated on the device's internal circuit board).
7. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Faint Display: Check battery level. Replace batteries if low. Ensure batteries are installed with correct polarity.
- Incorrect Readings: Verify the function switch is set to the correct measurement type and range. Check test lead connections. Ensure test leads are not damaged.
- Current Measurement Not Working: Check the current fuse. Replace if blown (refer to Maintenance section).
- 'OL' (Overload) Display: The measured value exceeds the selected range. Switch to a higher range or ensure the measurement is within the meter's capabilities.
