Setup Guide
Battery Installation & Charging
Your walkie talkies come with pre-installed rechargeable Li-ion batteries. Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the devices.
- To access the battery compartment, gently slide the belt clip upwards to remove it.
- Carefully open the battery cover on the back of the unit.
- Ensure the Li-ion battery is correctly seated with the contacts aligned.
- Close the battery cover and reattach the belt clip.
- Connect one of the provided USB Type-C cables to the charging port located at the top of the walkie talkie, next to the antenna.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, computer USB port). The included cable allows charging of two radios simultaneously.
- The battery indicator on the LCD screen will show charging status. A full charge typically takes several hours.

Initial Power On
To power on your walkie talkie:
- Locate the Power button on the front panel, below the LCD display.
- Press and hold the Power button for approximately 2-3 seconds until the LCD screen illuminates and you hear a power-on tone.
- The LCD display will show the current channel number and battery level.

Operating Instructions
Basic Controls
- PTT (Push-to-Talk) Button: Located on the side of the radio. Press and hold to transmit your voice, release to listen.
- Menu/Lock Button: Used to access the menu settings and to lock/unlock the keypad.
- Up (+) / Down (-) Buttons: Used to navigate through menu options, change channels, or adjust volume.
- MON (Monitor) Button: Used to temporarily disable squelch to listen for weak signals on the current channel.
Channel Selection & Privacy Codes
Your NXGKET walkie talkies support 22 FRS channels and 121 privacy codes (38 CTCSS codes and 83 DCS codes) to minimize interference from other users.
- Press the Menu button once to enter channel selection mode. The channel number will flash.
- Use the Up (+) or Down (-) buttons to select your desired channel (1-22).
- Press the Menu button again to enter privacy code selection mode. The privacy code will flash.
- Use the Up (+) or Down (-) buttons to select your desired privacy code (0-121).
- Press the Menu button a third time or wait a few seconds for the setting to be saved.
Note: For successful communication, all radios in your group must be set to the same channel and privacy code.
VOX Function (Voice Operated Exchange)
The VOX function allows for hands-free communication. When activated, the radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice, and stop transmitting when you stop speaking.
- Press the Menu button repeatedly until the VOX icon appears on the display.
- Use the Up (+) or Down (-) buttons to select the VOX sensitivity level (1-3, with 3 being the most sensitive). Select 'OFF' to disable VOX.
- Press the Menu button or wait for the setting to save.
NOAA Weather Alert
Stay informed about severe weather conditions with the built-in NOAA Weather Alert feature.
- Press and hold the Up (+) button for 2-3 seconds to scan 10 NOAA radio channels transmitting in your area.
- The radio will automatically tune to the strongest weather broadcast.
Communication Range
The NXGKET walkie talkies offer a communication range of up to 3 miles in open fields. Factors such as terrain, weather conditions, buildings, and electromagnetic interference can affect the actual range.

Maintenance
Battery Care
- Avoid fully discharging the batteries regularly to prolong their lifespan.
- Charge batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- If storing for extended periods, charge batteries to about 50% and recharge every 3-6 months.
Cleaning
- Wipe the radio's surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure the USB and earphone ports are free of dust and debris.
Storage
- Store walkie talkies in a cool, dry environment when not in use.
- Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
