What's Included

  • 1 x Janchs 304 LED Solar Icicle Light String (Warm White)
  • 1 x Solar Panel with Ground Stake
  • 1 x Remote Control

Setup Instructions

1. Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the light string, solar panel, and remote control for any signs of damage. If any damage is found, do not proceed with installation and contact customer support.

2. Solar Panel Placement

Select a location for the solar panel that receives maximum direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily. Ensure the panel is not obstructed by trees, buildings, or other objects that could cast shadows. Insert the ground stake into the solar panel and firmly place it in the ground, adjusting the angle to optimize sun exposure.

3. Light String Installation

Uncoil the icicle light string carefully to prevent tangling. The total length is 40 feet (12 meters), with 23 feet (7 meters) of wire containing LEDs and a 16.4 feet (5 meters) lead cord without lights. The spacing between drops is approximately 4.7 inches (12 cm), and drop lengths vary between 16, 20, and 28 inches. Hang the lights along eaves, railings, fences, or other desired outdoor structures. Ensure the solar panel is connected to the light string.

4. Initial Charge

Before first use, ensure the solar panel is exposed to direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours to allow the internal battery to fully charge. The lights will automatically turn on at dusk once sufficient charge is accumulated.

Operating Instructions

1. Automatic Operation

The Janchs icicle lights are equipped with a light sensor. They will automatically turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn, provided the solar panel has received adequate sunlight during the day. The built-in battery can power the lights for 8 to 12 hours at night after a full charge.

2. Remote Control Functions

Use the provided remote control to manage the light settings. Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and the solar panel for optimal functionality. The remote allows you to:

  • Power On/Off: Turn the lights on or off.
  • 8 Modes: Cycle through 8 different lighting patterns. The lights will remember the last selected mode.
  • 4 Brightness Levels: Adjust brightness to 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%.
  • Timer: Set a timer for 3 hours, 5 hours, or 8 hours of illumination, after which the lights will turn off.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Solar Panel

To ensure optimal charging efficiency, regularly wipe the surface of the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. A clean panel absorbs more sunlight.

2. Storage

If storing the lights for an extended period, ensure they are fully charged before storage. Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prolong battery life.

Troubleshooting

  • Lights not turning on:
    • Ensure the solar panel is placed in an area receiving direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours daily.
    • Verify that the power switch on the solar panel is in the 'ON' position.
    • Check for any physical damage to the wiring or LEDs.
  • Remote control not working:
    • Ensure the remote control battery is functional and correctly inserted.
    • Maintain a clear line of sight between the remote and the solar panel.
  • Short illumination time:
    • The solar panel may not be receiving enough direct sunlight for a full charge. Adjust its position or clear any obstructions.
    • Battery performance can decrease in colder temperatures.
