Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum cleaner.
Replacing the Dust Bag
The Hoover Complete Performance uses a filtered dust bag that traps 99% of dust matter down to 5 microns. Replace the bag when the "BAG CHECK INDICATOR" turns red or when suction power decreases.
- Unplug the vacuum cleaner from the electrical outlet.
- Locate the bag compartment door, usually on the front or side of the main body.
- Open the compartment door. The used dust bag will be visible.
- Carefully remove the full dust bag by pulling it away from the bag collar. The bag features an easy-release design for mess-free disposal.
- Insert a new genuine Hoover Type Y or Type S replacement bag, ensuring the cardboard collar is fully seated in the bag holder.
- Close the bag compartment door securely.

Filter Maintenance
Your vacuum may contain additional filters (e.g., pre-motor, post-motor). Refer to the specific filter locations in your model for cleaning or replacement instructions. Generally, these filters should be checked and cleaned/replaced every 3-6 months, or more frequently with heavy use.
Brush Roll Cleaning
Periodically inspect the brush roll for tangled hair, strings, or debris. Clear any obstructions to maintain effective cleaning.
- Unplug the vacuum cleaner from the electrical outlet.
- Turn the vacuum over to access the brush roll.
- Using scissors, carefully cut away any hair or threads wrapped around the brush roll.
- Remove any debris from the brush roll and its housing.
Troubleshooting
Before performing any troubleshooting, always ensure the vacuum cleaner is unplugged.
