Follow these steps for proper installation of your 3T6B Side View Camera and Monitor Kit.

3.1. Monitor Installation

  1. Choose Mounting Method: The monitor can be mounted using a suction cup bracket for windshield attachment or a central control folding bracket/vertical screen support for dashboard placement.
  2. Attach Bracket to Monitor: Snap the four-button bracket into the back of the display screen.
  3. Secure Monitor: Select a suitable viewing position and fix the monitor securely. For dashboard mounting, ensure the silicone pad is clean before placing the bracket. Adjust the viewing angle for optimal visibility.

3.2. Camera Installation

  1. Camera Placement: The optimal position to stick the camera is on the side of the car door, typically near the side mirror. Ensure the cable outlet is aligned with the edge of the car door.
  2. Secure Camera: Attach the specialized adhesive to the bottom of the camera and firmly press it onto the chosen location. The strong adhesive tape is designed for stability and leaves no traces.
  3. Route Video Cable: Introduce the video cable into the car cabin from the door frame. Open the sealing strip of the car door frame and pull the camera video cable into the cab from under the sealing strip. The video cable is thin and not easily caught by the car door.
  4. Secure Cable Inside: Fix the video cable on the inside of the vehicle using flat wire fixing clips. Ensure the video cable at the edge of the car door is securely fastened. Restore the car door seal rubber and cover plate.
  5. Adjust Camera Angle: Use the U-shaped hardware (or a small Allen key) provided in the accessory package to rotate the camera lens. Observe the image on the display screen and slightly rotate the camera to achieve the best horizontal viewing angle. The maximum rotation is 180 degrees; do not over-rotate.

3.3. Wiring Connections

  1. Connect Camera to Extension Cable: Connect the camera's video cable to the video extension cable.
  2. Connect Extension Cable to Monitor: Plug the video extension cable into the corresponding video input interface on the monitor.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the monitor's power cable to the vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter).
  4. Mirror Image Control: The white wire on the video extension cable controls the mirror image display. If you need a mirrored view (e.g., for side cameras), cut this white wire. If you need a non-mirrored view, leave it intact.
  5. Left/Right View Adjustment: For left or right side camera installation, you may need to cut the green wire on the camera cable. Cutting the green wire typically adjusts the view for the left side, while leaving it intact is for the right side.

4. Operation

Once installed, the 3T6B Side View Camera system operates to provide real-time visual assistance.

  • Automatic Activation: The system is designed to activate automatically when the vehicle's turn signal is engaged (for side view) or when reversing (if wired as a backup camera).
  • Wide-Angle View: The 120-degree wide-angle lens provides an expansive view, effectively covering blind spots that traditional mirrors cannot reach.
  • Night Vision: The camera features color night vision, ensuring clear visibility of surroundings even in low-light or dark conditions.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your 3T6B Side View Camera and Monitor Kit, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Regular Cleaning: Keep the camera lens and monitor screen clean from dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning.
  • Waterproofing: The camera is IP69K waterproof, meaning it is highly resistant to dust and high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. However, avoid prolonged submersion or direct high-pressure washing on the camera.
  • Cable Inspection: Periodically check all cables and connections for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Secure any loose parts immediately.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your 3T6B Side View Camera and Monitor Kit, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • No Image on Monitor:
    • Check all power connections to ensure they are secure and receiving power.
    • Verify that the video cable is properly connected from the camera to the monitor.
    • Ensure the monitor is powered on and set to the correct input channel.
  • Poor Video Quality:
    • Clean the camera lens. Dirt or condensation can obscure the view.
    • Check for any kinks or damage in the video cable.
    • Ensure the camera is securely mounted and not vibrating.
  • Incorrect Image Orientation (Mirrored/Non-Mirrored):
    • Refer to Section 3.3 regarding the white control wire. If the image is mirrored and you need it non-mirrored, ensure the white wire is intact. If it's non-mirrored and you need it mirrored, cut the white wire.
  • Camera View Angle Issues:
    • Use the provided Allen key to adjust the camera lens angle as described in Section 3.2.
