2. Setup and Installation
The HisoHu Insert Range Hood is designed for built-in/insert mounting within your kitchen cabinetry. All necessary installation hardware is included for a straightforward setup.
2.1 Product Dimensions

Ensure your cabinet opening and surrounding area meet the required dimensions for proper fit and ventilation. The product dimensions are approximately 29.08 x 70.49 x 29.89 inches.
2.2 Installation Steps

- Prepare Cabinet Opening: Ensure the cabinet opening is correctly sized and reinforced to support the range hood's weight.
- Mark Screw Locations: Use the provided template or measure carefully to mark the 12 screw hole locations inside the cabinet.
- Install Expansion Bolts: Nail the 12 expansion bolts into the marked locations in the cabinet.
- Mount the Range Hood: Carefully lift and position the range hood into the cabinet opening, aligning it with the expansion bolts. Tighten the screws to secure the range hood firmly.
- Install Vent Adapter: Secure the vent adapter to the top of the range hood using the provided small screws.
- Connect Ductwork: Extend the ventilation duct from the adapter to the outside of your home for ducted operation. If using ductless mode, ensure the charcoal filter is installed (see Maintenance section).
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V outlet. Ensure proper grounding as per local electrical codes.
- Insert Oil Cup and Filters: Place the oil cup into its designated slot and install the baffle filters.
Important Safety Note: Do not install closer than 25.5 inches above the cooking surface. This appliance is for residential indoor use only. Ensure the range hood is properly grounded by a qualified electrician in accordance with all applicable national and local electrical codes. Switch power off at the service panel and lock the service panel to prevent power from being switched on accidentally during installation.
3. Operating Instructions
Your HisoHu range hood offers multiple convenient control options for optimal performance.
3.1 Control Panel and Features

- Power Button: Press to turn the unit on/off.
- Fan Speed Control: Adjust between 4 fan speeds (1-4) to suit your cooking needs. The display will show the current speed level.
- Light Control: Turn the 4500K bright LED lights on/off.
- Delayed Shut-off: Activate the timer function to allow the fan to run for a set period after cooking, ensuring all odors are cleared.
3.2 Gesture Sensing Control
Experience hands-free operation with the precision gesture control system.

- Increase Speed/Turn On: Wave your hand from left to right across the gesture sensors to turn on the fan or increase its speed.
- Decrease Speed/Turn Off: Wave your hand from right to left across the gesture sensors to decrease the fan speed or turn off the unit.
3.3 Remote Control Operation
The included remote control provides convenient operation from a distance.
- Power Button: Press the power button on the remote to turn the range hood on or off.
- Fan Speed Buttons (+/-): Use the plus and minus buttons to adjust the fan speed.
- Light Button: Toggle the LED lights on or off.
- Timer Button: Set the delayed shut-off timer.

4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your range hood.
4.1 Filter Cleaning
The range hood features 5-layer, heavy-duty, and dishwasher-safe stainless steel baffle filters.

- Removal: To remove the filters, locate the release tabs or handles, slide them back, and pull the filters down.
- Cleaning: Place the filters in your dishwasher for a thorough cleaning. Alternatively, hand wash with warm, soapy water.
- Reinstallation: Ensure filters are completely dry before reinserting them into the hood.
4.2 Ductless Operation (Charcoal Filter)
If operating in ductless (recirculation) mode, the charcoal filter needs to be installed and replaced periodically.

- Installation: The charcoal filter is typically installed around the motor housing. Refer to the manual's specific diagrams for precise placement.
- Replacement: Charcoal filters are not washable and must be replaced when they become saturated or lose effectiveness. The frequency depends on cooking habits.
4.3 LED Light Replacement
The LED lights are designed for long life. If replacement is needed, contact customer support for free replacements under warranty.

5. Troubleshooting
