4. Compatibility

4.1. SSD Compatibility

This enclosure is designed to be compatible with both NVMe and SATA M.2 SSDs. It supports M Key and B&M Key SSDs for NVMe, and B&M Key SSDs for SATA. It accommodates various M.2 SSD sizes including 2280, 2260, 2242, and 2230.

Important Note:

  • Does NOT support M-Key SATA SSDs.
  • Does NOT support B-Key NGFF/SATA PCIe SSDs.

4.2. System and Device Compatibility

The enclosure is plug-and-play and driver-free for most modern operating systems and devices:

  • Operating Systems: Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Linux, Android.
  • Devices: Laptops (e.g., MacBook Air/Pro, Dell XPS Series), Tablets (e.g., iPad Pro, Samsung tablets), Desktops (e.g., Mac mini), Gaming Consoles (e.g., PS5, Xbox).

5. Setup Guide

Follow these steps to install your M.2 SSD into the UGREEN enclosure:

  1. Open the Enclosure: Press the button on one end of the enclosure to release the internal tray. Slide the tray out completely.
  2. Insert the SSD: Gently insert your M.2 SSD into the M.2 slot on the PCB at a 45-degree angle.
  3. Secure the SSD: Use the included rubber fastener to secure the SSD in place. Slide the rubber stopper over the notch on the SSD to hold it down firmly.
  4. Close the Enclosure: Slide the internal tray back into the aluminum shell until it clicks securely into place.
  5. Apply Silicone Case (Optional): For added protection, slide the silicone protective case over the enclosure.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Connecting to Your Device

Once your SSD is securely installed in the enclosure, connect it to your computer or compatible device using one of the provided USB cables:

  • For USB-C ports on your device, use the USB-C to USB-C cable.
  • For USB-A ports on your device, use the USB-A to USB-C cable.

The enclosure is plug-and-play, so no additional drivers are typically required. Your operating system should automatically detect the new storage device.

6.2. LED Indicator

The white LED indicator on the enclosure provides visual feedback on its operational status:

  • Solid White: The enclosure is powered on and connected.
  • Flashing White: Data transmission is in progress.

7. Maintenance and Care

  • Proper Handling: Always handle the enclosure with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts. The included silicone case provides additional shock and vibration resistance.
  • Heat Management: While the aluminum shell and thermal pad are designed for efficient heat dissipation, prolonged heavy use may still cause the enclosure to warm up. Ensure adequate airflow around the device during operation.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the enclosure. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Safe Removal: Always safely eject the enclosure from your computer before disconnecting the USB cable to prevent data corruption.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the enclosure in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
