3.7 Advanced Settings

  • Image Rotation: This setting is useful when mounting the camera upside down (e.g., on a helmet or bike). It rotates the recorded image 180 degrees so it appears upright. Note that the camera's display itself does not rotate.

4. Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will extend the life of your Exprotrek Action Camera.

  • Cleaning: Use the provided lens cloth to gently clean the camera lens and screens. For the waterproof housing, rinse with fresh water after saltwater use and allow to air dry. Ensure no debris is on the O-ring seal.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging batteries for extended periods. If not using the camera for a long time, remove the batteries.
  • Storage: Store the camera and accessories in a dry, dust-free environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your camera.

  • SD Card Not Locking/Camera Not Working: Ensure the Micro SD card is pushed in deeply until it clicks and locks into place. The camera will not function without a properly installed memory card.
  • Camera Shuts Off During Recording: Check the "Auto Power Off" setting in the camera menu. Set it to "Turn Off" to prevent the camera from automatically powering down during recording.
  • Wi-Fi Security Concerns: The Wi-Fi password may be simple or hardcoded. For security, always disable Wi-Fi on the camera when not actively using the app connection.
  • Hollow Sound Quality: The camera's built-in microphone may produce a slightly hollow sound. This is typical for action cameras, especially when enclosed in the waterproof housing.
  • Beep Sound in Recordings: The camera emits a beep when stopping a recording, which may be audible in the video. There is no setting to disable this beep.
  • Camera Not Responding: If the camera becomes unresponsive, try removing and reinserting the battery to perform a hard reset.
