6. Setup
- Power Connection: Connect a DC 9V AC adapter (center minus) to the DC IN jack on the pedal.
- Input Connection: Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack of the EQ7 pedal using a standard 1/4" instrument cable.
- Output Connection: Connect the OUTPUT jack of the EQ7 pedal to your amplifier's input or to the input of another effects pedal in your signal chain using a standard 1/4" instrument cable.
- Power On: Ensure all connections are secure before powering on your amplifier and the pedal.
7. Operation
Once the pedal is set up, you can begin shaping your tone:
- Engaging the Effect: Press the footswitch to turn the equalizer effect ON. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Adjusting Frequency Bands: Use the seven EQ sliders to boost or cut specific frequencies. Moving a slider up boosts that frequency, while moving it down cuts it. Each band offers ±15dB of adjustment.
- Adjusting Overall Level: Use the LEVEL slider to control the overall output volume of the pedal. This can be used to compensate for volume changes introduced by EQ adjustments or to provide a boost for solos.
- True Bypass: When the effect is OFF (indicator light is off), the pedal is in true bypass mode, meaning your guitar signal passes through without any coloration from the pedal's circuitry.
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the pedal. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the pedal in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight when not in use.
- Avoid Tampering: Do not attempt to open the pedal or remove any screws. Doing so will void the product warranty.
9. Troubleshooting
- No Sound/Malfunction: Ensure the power adapter's polarity is correct (DC 9V, center minus). Incorrect polarity is a common cause of malfunction. Check all cable connections.
- Weak Signal: Check the LEVEL slider position. Ensure all EQ sliders are not set to extreme cut positions.
- Unwanted Noise: Ensure all cables are properly shielded and connected. Try a different power supply to rule out power-related noise.
