What's in the Box
Upon unboxing your Sony Alpha ZV-E10, verify that all components are present:
- Camera Body
- Accessories (including Mic ECM-S1 for this specific model)
- Battery (1 Lithium Ion battery included)
Note: Lenses are sold separately unless specified as a kit. This model is the "Black Base w/ Mic ECM-S1" and does not include a lens.
Setup
1. Charging the Battery
Before initial use, fully charge the supplied Lithium Ion battery. Insert the battery into the camera and connect the camera to a power source using the provided USB cable. The charging indicator will illuminate during charging and turn off when complete.
2. Inserting a Memory Card
Open the memory card slot cover. Insert a compatible SD/SDHC/SDXC/Memory Stick Duo Hybrid (UHS-I) memory card into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is inserted correctly to avoid damage.

Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
To power on the camera, slide the ON/OFF switch located on the top panel. To power off, slide the switch back to the OFF position.
Recording Video
The Sony Alpha ZV-E10 supports 4K video recording. It records 4K at a maximum of 30 frames per second (fps). While this is suitable for standard video, users planning to incorporate slow-motion effects should be aware that footage shot at 30fps may appear choppy when slowed down significantly. For smoother slow-motion, consider shooting in Full HD (1080p) at higher frame rates if available in camera settings, or plan your slow-motion needs during the shooting phase.

Product Showcase Setting
This feature is ideal for product reviewers. When activated, the camera will automatically shift focus from your face to a product held close to the lens, and then back to your face when the product is removed. This eliminates the need to manually block your face to prompt focus changes.

Background Defocus Button
Located on the camera body, this button allows for instant toggling between a clear background and a blurred background (bokeh effect). This simplifies achieving a professional-looking shallow depth of field without complex manual adjustments.
Vari-angle LCD Screen
The camera features a flip-out vari-angle LCD screen. This screen can be rotated to face forward, making it convenient for self-recording (vlogging) or shooting from unusual angles. It also supports touch-to-track and touch-to-focus functionalities.

Audio Features
The ZV-E10 includes a directional 3-capsule microphone designed to capture clear audio from the front of the camera, reducing background noise. It also has a microphone input jack, allowing users to connect external microphones for even higher audio quality or specific recording needs.
Maintenance
- Cleaning the Camera Body: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the camera body. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using organic solvents.
- Cleaning the Lens: Use a lens blower to remove dust and then gently wipe with a lens cleaning cloth. Do not touch the lens surface with your fingers.
- Sensor Cleaning: If dust adheres to the image sensor and appears in images, consult the full user manual or a professional service for sensor cleaning.
- Storage: Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery if storing for extended periods.
