Setup

1. Installation

The Pioneer DMH-1770NEX is a Double-DIN unit. Professional installation is highly recommended due to the complexity of vehicle wiring and integration. Refer to the detailed wiring diagram provided in the separate installation guide for specific connections.

  • Power Connection: Connect the main power harness to the vehicle's power supply, ensuring proper grounding.

2. Initial Power-On

After installation, turn on your vehicle's ignition. The Pioneer logo should appear on the 6.8" capacitive touchscreen. Follow any on-screen prompts for initial setup, such as language selection and time zone.

Touchscreen Operation

The DMH-1770NEX features a responsive 6.8" WVGA capacitive touchscreen. Navigate menus, select options, and control media playback by tapping, swiping, and dragging on the screen.

Smartphone Integration (Apple CarPlay & Android Auto)

Connect your compatible iPhone or Android smartphone via USB to access Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. This allows for seamless integration of navigation, music, messaging, and voice commands directly on the receiver's display.

  • Apple CarPlay: Requires iPhone 5 or newer with the latest version of iOS.
  • Android Auto: Requires Android Auto app on Google Play and an Android compatible smartphone running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher.

Bluetooth Connectivity

The unit features built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling and wireless audio streaming.

  1. Pairing: Go to the Bluetooth settings on your smartphone and search for "Pioneer DMH-1770NEX". Select it to pair.
  2. Hands-Free Calling: Once paired, you can make and receive calls directly from the receiver's screen.

Radio (FM/AM, SiriusXM-Ready)
