5. Connect to Gas Valve: Thread the M8*1 nut of the new thermocouple onto the gas valve connection. Tighten securely with an 8mm wrench, but do not overtighten.
6. Check for Leaks: Turn on the gas supply. Apply a soap and water solution to all connections. If bubbles appear, tighten the connection until bubbling stops.
7. Test Operation: Follow your heater's instructions to light the pilot and main burner. Ensure the pilot flame consistently heats the thermocouple tip and the main burner ignites and stays lit.

6. Operation

The thermocouple operates automatically as a safety device. When the pilot light is lit, the heat from the flame generates a small electrical current within the thermocouple. This current keeps the gas valve open, allowing gas to flow to the pilot and main burner. If the pilot flame goes out, the thermocouple cools, the electrical current stops, and the gas valve automatically closes, shutting off the gas supply to prevent hazardous gas accumulation.
