Setup
Follow these steps to properly set up the detergent siphon hose with your pressure washer:
- Identify the Siphon Inlet: Locate the detergent siphon inlet on your high-pressure power washer. This is typically a small port designed for drawing cleaning solutions. Refer to your power washer's manual if you are unsure.
- Connect the Hose: Insert the end of the clear siphon hose (without the filter) firmly into the detergent siphon inlet of your power washer. Ensure a snug fit to prevent air leaks, which can affect suction.
- Prepare Detergent: Fill a suitable container with the desired pressure washer-compatible detergent or soap.
- Place the Filter: Submerge the black filter end of the siphon hose completely into the detergent solution within the container. Ensure the filter remains submerged during operation to prevent air from being drawn into the system.

Operating Instructions
Once the siphon hose is set up, follow your power washer's instructions for detergent application:
- Start Power Washer: Turn on your high-pressure power washer according to its operating manual.
- Engage Detergent Mode: Most power washers have a specific setting or nozzle (e.g., low-pressure soap nozzle) that activates the detergent siphon function. Switch to this mode.
- Apply Detergent: Begin spraying the surface you wish to clean. The power washer will draw detergent through the siphon hose and mix it with the water stream.
- Rinse: After applying detergent, switch back to a high-pressure rinse nozzle or mode on your power washer to rinse the surface thoroughly.
Important Safety Note:
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and gloves when operating a power washer and handling cleaning solutions. Ensure the work area is well-ventilated.
Maintenance
Proper maintenance extends the life of your siphon hose and filter:
- Rinse After Use: After each use, run clean water through the siphon hose to flush out any remaining detergent. This prevents residue buildup and clogging.
- Clean the Filter: Periodically inspect the black filter for debris or buildup. If dirty, remove the filter and rinse it thoroughly under running water. For stubborn clogs, a soft brush can be used.
- Inspect for Damage: Regularly check the hose for kinks, cracks, or punctures. Inspect the filter for any damage that might compromise its function. Replace the hose and filter if significant damage is found.
- Storage: Store the hose and filter in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Coiling the hose neatly can prevent kinks.
