1. Product Overview

The Boston Tech HK112 Digital Kitchen Scale is designed for high-precision weighing in your kitchen. 2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the two (2) AAA batteries (included) into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2.2 Placement

  • Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface to ensure accurate readings. Avoid soft or uneven surfaces.
  • Ensure the scale is not exposed to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, or high humidity.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off

  • To power on, press the 'ON/OFF' button (if present, or simply place an item on the scale if it has auto-on). The LCD will light up.
  • The scale features an automatic shut-off system after 180 seconds (3 minutes) of inactivity to conserve battery life.

3.2 Weighing Procedure

  1. Place the scale on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Press the 'ON/OFF' button to turn on the scale. Wait for the display to show '0' or '0 g'.
  3. Place the item to be weighed gently onto the center of the scale's platform.
  4. Read the weight displayed on the LCD screen.

3.3 Unit Conversion

The scale supports multiple units of measurement. To change units:

  • With the scale on, press the 'MODE' button repeatedly to cycle through the available units: grams (g), kilograms (kg), pounds (lb), ounces (oz), milliliters (ml), and milk milliliters (ml).
  • Select the desired unit for your measurement.

3.4 Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to weigh items in a container by subtracting the container's weight.

  1. Place an empty container on the scale.
  2. Press the 'ZERO' or 'TARE' button. The display will reset to '0'.
  3. Add the items you wish to weigh into the container. The display will show only the net weight of the items.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

  • The tempered glass surface is easy to clean. Wipe the scale with a soft, damp cloth after each use.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water.
  • Ensure the scale is completely dry before storing.

4.2 Storage

  • Store the scale in a cool, dry place.
  • Its compact size allows for easy storage in drawers or cabinets.

5. Troubleshooting

  • "Lo" or Low Battery Indicator: If the display shows "Lo" or a battery icon, replace the batteries with new AAA batteries.
  • "O-Ld" or Overload Indicator: If the display shows "O-Ld", the weight on the scale exceeds its maximum capacity (8 kg). Remove the item immediately to prevent damage.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the scale is placed on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Avoid placing it near vibrating appliances or in drafty areas. Recalibrate by turning the scale off and on again.
  • No Display: Check if the batteries are inserted correctly and if they are new.
