3. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack the Unit: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Install Batteries:
    • Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the lid.
    • Insert 4 C-size alkaline batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).

  3. Insert Trash Bag:
    • Remove the smart retainer ring from the trash can body.
    • Place a standard 13-gallon trash bag into the body.
    • Fold the top edge of the trash bag over the smart retainer ring.
    • Insert the smart retainer ring with the bag back into the trash can body, ensuring the bag is securely held and concealed.

  4. Place the Lid: Carefully place the lid onto the trash can body. Ensure it is seated properly.
  5. Power On: Locate the power switch, usually on the back or underside of the lid, and switch it to the "ON" position.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Automatic Sensor Operation

  • The trash can lid will automatically open when an object (e.g., your hand) approaches the sensor area within approximately 6 inches.
  • The lid will remain open for approximately 7 seconds.
  • After 7 seconds, or if the object moves away, the lid will close automatically and quietly.

4.2 Manual Operation

For situations requiring the lid to stay open longer, use the manual control buttons:

  • OPEN Button: Press the "OPEN" button on the lid to keep the lid open indefinitely.
  • CLOSE Button: Press the "CLOSE" button to close the lid.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the stainless steel body with a damp cloth. For stubborn smudges, use a stainless steel cleaner. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Anti-Fingerprint Surface: The brushed stainless steel is designed to resist fingerprints, making cleaning easier.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all 4 C-size batteries when the sensor operation becomes inconsistent or stops working. New alkaline batteries can last up to 10,000 usages.

6. Troubleshooting
