3. Setup Guide

3.1 Unpacking and Assembly:

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Attach the food bowl to the main unit by sliding it into place until it clicks securely.
  3. Open the top lid of the food hopper.

3.2 Powering the Device:

The feeder supports two power sources:

  • AC Adapter (Primary): Connect the provided AC adapter to the power input port on the back of the feeder and plug it into a wall outlet.
  • Battery Backup (Optional): For power outage protection, insert 3 x D-cell batteries (not included) into the battery compartment at the bottom of the feeder. The feeder will automatically switch to battery power if AC power is lost.

3.3 App Installation and Connection:

The Balimo feeder is controlled via the "TUYA Smart App".

  1. Download the App: Scan the QR code provided in the product manual or search for "TUYA Smart App" on the Google Play Store (for Android 5.0+) or Apple App Store (for iOS 7.0+).

  2. Register/Log In: Open the app and create a new account or log in if you already have one.
  3. Add Device:
    • Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The feeder does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
    • On the feeder, press and hold the 'RESET' button (usually located near the control panel) until the indicator light flashes rapidly, indicating it's in pairing mode.
    • In the TUYA Smart App, tap 'Add Device' or the '+' icon. The app should automatically detect the feeder via Bluetooth for quick connection.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
    • Wait for the device to connect. Once connected, the indicator light on the feeder will become solid, and the app will confirm successful pairing.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Filling the Food Hopper:

  1. Ensure the feeder is powered on.
  2. Open the top lid of the food hopper.
  3. Pour dry pet food into the hopper. Ensure the kibble size is between 2-12mm to prevent clogging.
  4. Close the lid securely, ensuring the security lock is engaged.

4.2 Setting Up Feeding Schedules (via App):

The mobile app provides comprehensive control over feeding schedules.

  1. Open the TUYA Smart App and select your Balimo feeder from the device list.
  2. Navigate to the 'Feed Plan' or 'Meal Plan' section.
  3. Tap 'Add Meal' to create a new feeding schedule.
  4. Set the desired feeding time (e.g., 8:00 AM).
  5. Select the number of portions for this meal (1-12 portions).
  6. Repeat for up to 10 meals per day.
  7. Save your settings. The feeder will now dispense food according to your programmed schedule.

4.3 Manual Feeding:

  • Via App: On the main screen of the feeder in the app, you can manually dispense food by tapping the 'Feed' button and selecting the number of portions.
  • Via Device: Press the 'FEED' button on the feeder's control panel to dispense one portion immediately.

5. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and hygienic operation of your Balimo feeder.

5.1 Cleaning:

  1. Unplug the feeder from the power outlet and remove any batteries.
  2. Remove the food bowl and the food hopper.
  3. Wash the food bowl and hopper with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reassembling.
  4. Wipe the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  5. Ensure all parts are completely dry before refilling with food and reattaching.

5.2 Storage:

If storing the feeder for an extended period, clean all components, remove batteries, and store in a cool, dry place.
