1. Product Overview

The JeaTone Peephole Viewer Digital Door Viewer provides enhanced home security and convenience. This device replaces a traditional peephole with a digital camera and an indoor display, allowing you to see who is at your door. It integrates with a mobile application for remote monitoring and two-way communication.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Physical Installation

  1. Remove Existing Peephole: Unscrew and remove your current peephole from the door.
  2. Insert Outdoor Unit: Carefully insert the outdoor camera unit through the peephole hole from the outside of the door. Ensure the cable passes through to the inside.
  3. Attach Hanging Board: On the inside of the door, thread the outdoor unit's cable through the hanging board. Secure the hanging board to the door using the provided screws, ensuring the cable is not pinched.
  4. Connect Indoor Unit: Connect the cable from the outdoor unit to the corresponding port on the back of the indoor display unit.
  5. Mount Indoor Unit: Align the indoor unit with the hanging board and slide it into place until it clicks securely.

3.2 App Connection (TuyaSmart)

To utilize all smart features, connect your device to the TuyaSmart app.

  1. Download App: Download and install the "TuyaSmart" app from your mobile device's app store (available for Android and iOS).
  2. Reset Device: Long press the Home button on the indoor unit for 5 seconds. The blue light will flash, and you will hear a prompt: "Please use APP to set up the network."
  3. Add Device in App:
    • Open the TuyaSmart app and tap "Add Device".
    • Select device type: "Security & Video Surveillance", then choose "Smart Doorbell".
    • On the "Reset the device first" screen, select "QR Code" and tap "Next".
  4. Connect to Wi-Fi:
    • The app will automatically fill in your Wi-Fi network name. Ensure you are connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, as 5 GHz networks are not supported.
    • Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap "Next".
  5. Scan QR Code: A QR code will appear on your phone screen. Use the outdoor camera to scan this QR code. Maintain a distance of approximately 15-20 cm between the camera and your phone screen.
  6. Complete Connection: When you hear the prompt "connection the network", tap "I heard a Prompt" in the app and wait for the device to connect successfully.

Note: Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong in the area of installation for stable connection.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Live View and Monitoring

Once connected, you can view live footage from the outdoor camera on the indoor display unit or through the TuyaSmart app on your smartphone.

4.2 Motion Detection

The device features motion detection. When movement is detected at your door, the system will send a push notification to your connected smartphone, allowing you to check the live feed.

4.3 Two-Way Audio Communication

Engage in real-time conversations with visitors at your door using the two-way audio feature.

  1. When a visitor rings the doorbell or motion is detected, open the notification on your smartphone.
  2. Tap the "Speak" icon in the app to initiate two-way communication.
  3. To ensure clear communication, navigate to "Settings" > "Basic Function Settings" > "Talk Mode" in the app and select "Two-way Talk".

4.4 Night Vision

The 1080P HD camera provides clear vision even in low-light conditions, automatically switching to night vision mode when necessary.

4.5 User Sharing

The device supports sharing access with multiple users (typically 9-12 users, depending on local network restrictions). This allows family members or trusted individuals to monitor the door.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Management

The indoor unit is powered by a 5000 mAh lithium-ion battery. A low battery reminder will appear when the charge drops below 10%. Recharge the device using the provided USB data cable.

5.2 Storage

The device supports local storage via a Micro SD card (up to 128GB, not included). Ensure the SD card is properly inserted for recording events. The device may prompt you to format the SD card periodically; follow the on-screen instructions if necessary.

5.3 Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance, regularly clean the camera lens and the indoor display screen with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6. Troubleshooting

Issue Possible Cause / Solution
Device not connecting to Wi-Fi.
  • Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The device does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Verify the Wi-Fi password entered is correct.
  • Check the distance between the device and your Wi-Fi router. A weak signal can cause connection drops.
  • Try resetting the device and re-pairing it with the app.
Screen randomly turns on or does not turn on when bell rings.
  • Check app settings for screen activation preferences and motion detection sensitivity.
  • Ensure the device firmware is up to date via the TuyaSmart app.
  • If the issue persists, contact customer support.
Motion detection recordings are delayed or only capture images.
  • Adjust motion detection sensitivity in the app settings.
  • Ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection for timely recording uploads.
  • Verify the SD card is correctly inserted and has sufficient storage space.
Audio echo or resonance during two-way communication.
  • Ensure the "Talk Mode" in app settings is set to "Two-way Talk".
  • Avoid holding your phone too close to the indoor unit during communication.
SD card prompts for formatting or shows "card full" incorrectly.
  • Try formatting the SD card through the device settings in the app.
  • If the issue persists, the SD card may be faulty and require replacement.
